What To Expect
Fenais da Luz
This parish located on the north coast of São Miguel island is where we start and end the tour. After starting our tour on paved roads, we will ride along the seafront of and explore dirt roads in this area.
This is a mountain with an altitude of 845 meters. The breathtaking view is very similar to “Miradouro da Boca do Inferno” but from a higher perspective (accessible with the quads) and even more magnificent due to its altitude. From here you can see Lagoa Rasa, Lagoa de Santiago, Lagoa Verde, Lagoa Azul and a view to the whole crater of Sete Cidades dormant volcano. If weather is good, this one of the high lights of the tour, where we can see almost the whole island from the top.

A really fun ride with Filipe up to the volcanic crater

5.00If you're visiting Ponta Delgada on São Miguel Island in the Azores, there is only one trip you want to take: go with Filipe right from his place on the North Coast up to the Sete Cidades volcanic crater. Filipe is an amazing guide and was accommodating to our schedule. He showed us the sights of his beloved Ponto Delgada, taking us to the caldera, then for café com leite in the little village of Sete Cidades, then descending back down to the North Coast. The buggies were a blast to drive and had amazing climbing power. This was one of my favorite shore excursions ever! A little advice on getting to Filipe's place: Either call for a taxi, or else walk to the City Center and pick one up there. It should be about 15 euros. This part was not explained well beforehand. But it is about a 20-minute ride from Portas do Mar to the Filipe's residential base camp in the North Coast. Also, dress warmly! It is quite cool and windy at altitude.

5.00I recently took a buggy ride and can only say that it was an amazing experience! From the first minute showed professionalism, sympathy and total attention to safety. The buggies were comfortable and in excellent condition, which made the whole adventure even more fun. The route was spectacular — full of beautiful landscapes, exciting trails and perfect moments to take pictures. Adrenaline has always been at the right point, never ceasing to be a safe and well-organized activity. I recommend this tour.

5.00Our tour guide was excellent. Provided a lot of great information at our stops and ensured the group stayed safe and together throughout. As the passenger, I was able to see a lot of great views on the drive between stops, but even the driver is able to see the beautiful landscape. It is a little messy with the muddy/wet roads, so dress accordingly!

5.00The tour took us up the volcano through the streets and back trails. Then we rode around the volcano rim and down into the town for a break and snack before the drive back. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We stopped at a few viewpoints and points of interest along the way. We had good weather for the trip, the temperature dropped a fair bit with the elevation gain and wind at the top . We put on a fleece/long sleeve shirt under our rain coats and were good. We absolutely loved the tour ❤️ and would do it again.

5.00On our trip to the island, we wanted to do a fun activity that included adrenaline. Without a doubt, visiting the island driving a buggy has far exceeded all the expectations we had. I also wanted to emphasize the kindness of Bruno, the instructor of the activity. You rating that he likes his job. The friendliness and tranquility you convey when driving the vehicle is to be admired. It takes you to visit the key sites of the island and makes you enjoy the road. It has been a pleasure to share this experience and we will definitely recommend it.
