• A Great Tour But Norway is not guaranteed to be a great summer trip

  On a sunny day Lofoten is spectacular. It also helped to have a guide like Carlos who knew where to go and how to tour with a small group. Which means he sometimes just let us enjoy some quiet, without the constant chatter many guides feel obligated to make. He also prepared a great little lunch for us. I do have a note which has nothing to do with the tour or location but is very important if you are considering a summer vacation to Norway. Did you notice I started the review by saying "on a sunny day?" Guess what? Even in late June, the locals in Norway will admit they can go WEEKS without any sun. Just gray, wind and rain. Nobody seems to tell you when you visit Norway that it may not look anything like the pictures. This is not about "dressing in layers." If you are in a place where this is nothing else to do besides see pretty landscape and it is not, you have just invested a lot of money into an iffy vacation. We loved 50% of our time in Norway (cruise) and hated the other 50%. BUYER BEWARE.

  Our guide, Sandy, was excellent, friendly & helpful. Our 86 year old family member was with us & is not very mobile. He was very accommodating with her needs, & each time she chose not to exit the car to get a better look at the sites, he made a point of parking it so she could have a great view & enjoy the location anyway. We’re so glad we chose to do a private tour with him. We saw a lot more than we would have through our included cruise excursion. Great trip!

  Carlos was the best. Took us to all the best local places and we got the best family photos. Great guy and loved his spirit.

  My family and I had a tour with Carlos and Santi and it was the perfect way to see the islands and amazing views in a relatively short amount of time. They were both engaging and the communication/pickup was seamless. Luckily we were the only ones on the tour so we were able to modify our pickup and dropoff locations since we were staying in Reine. Definitely recommend!

• Private Tour of Lofoten

  We were visiting The Lofoten Islands on a Cunard cruise and wanted something more personal than a big tour with loads of other people. We researched on-line and decided on this tour. We are so pleased we did so as we really enjoyed the day with Carlos Caballero from Northern Explorer who proved to be good company and really informative. We had a great tour of the islands in his van enjoying lots of photo stops along the way and a lovely coffee stop on a fabulous beach. Lofoten scenery is amazing and we got to see more of the islands than we otherwise would have on a big organised coach tour. The trip was excellent and we would do it again if we ever have the chance to visit Lofoten. Thanks to Carlos for a memorable day.
