This is a 2.5-3 mile mushing activity that meanders through a grove of birch and aspen on a high ridge above gold stream valley. The actual sledding time is approximately 30-45 minutes, weather dependant. Full activity length is 2 hours. In the beginning we will go over how to ride on and in your tandem dog sleds. Once we have this out of the way we can create some noise and meet the dogs! While you enjoy kisses and hugs from your loving huskies we will harness and hook up the team. Once hooked up we will head out into the grove. There are ample opportunities for photos along the way and plenty of cuddle time when we return to the kennel.
Arctic oven tent, heated to warm up in
Plenty of extra time for photos and dog visits during and after
Hot coffee, tea, and cocoa

Such a wonderful dog-sledding experience with Sluice Box Sled Dogs! I booked this tour with my 73-year-old mother in mind and Greg put any nerves she might have had at ease right out of the gate. He greeted us at our vehicle upon our arrival and his calm manner and demeanor was instantly reassuring. He led us to a small cabin, which was toasty and warm thanks to the wood burning stove. While inside, he talked us through what we would be seeing, doing and experiencing while on the tour. Before heading out, Greg checked our gear, making sure that the gloves and boots we were wearing were sufficiently warm for the adventure ahead. He suggested that I switch into a more insulated pair of boots that he had available, which he proceeded to put on a boot warmer so they would be warmed up when it was time to go! In the cabin with us were two of his sled dogs - the most friendly, loving and gentle creatures who are more than happy to soak up all the attention you’re willing to give them! We then headed outside and Greg began assembling his dog team. Once he had the dogs ready, he once again talked to us and demonstrated to us what we needed to do while on the sled to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. We felt fully prepared to take off at that point and proceeded with the dogsledding adventure! While on the sleds, the opportunity to watch Greg in action with his dog team, combined with the thrill of the sledding and the breathtaking scenery you are riding through makes for a nearly magical experience. Once you return to the cabin, there is once again ample opportunity to interact with the dogs – enjoying time with them and watching them in their element is so rewarding! In addition to being so hands on and helpful in person, Sluice Box Sled Dogs is also terrific in their communication beforehand! You will receive very informative emails suggesting what items or gear you should bring for the day, as well as dropping a pin for their location and including detailed instructions for the drive to their location. I would highly recommend Sluice Box Sled Dogs to anyone!

Great experience would go back again! We came early and was greeted with Greg and his great and friendly dogs Mini and Georgia! The dogs was all so friendly and huggable. Greg was very knowledgeable about all his dogs. It was great to know about the history and generations of dogs that he takes care of. The dog sledding was great too, we came when it was snowing so it was very magical passing through the snowy trees. They have available gears to use if your own gear isn't enough. And you get to pet and take pictures with the dog! And the road to get to the Sluice box sled dogs was very scenery and magical. It was snowing when we went but there wasn't too many cars so we just went at our own pace.
