Experience Silfra's pristine, crystal clear water while you dive between two continents.
Silfra is a crack in the Earth ripped open by the movement of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
The crystal clear glacial water filling the Silfra fissure has been filtered for decades through underground lava rock, providing over 100 meters of underwater visibility. The underwater scenery that you experience in Silfra is found nowhere else on Earth, a true bucket list dive.
The diving tour of Silfra is done in a dry suit, helping you to stay warm and dry inside the suit.
You will explore the four main parts of Silfra, the big crack, Silfra hall, Silfra Cathedral and the Silfra Lagoon. You will be able to touch the 2 continents at one point, don't forget to take a photo!
Silfra is located in Thingvellir National Park which is a Unesco heritage site. The beautiful park is one of the wonders on the famous Golden circle route.

Amazing experience! The visibility is incredible. The equipment was brilliant, wore a thermal base layer underneath and then you’re given the dry suit undersuit and the dry suit equipment. Diogo our guide was perfect and the whole team was fantastic, super smooth.

Unforgettable dive in the Silfra crevasse with Dive.is – an absolute highlight! Our dive at the Silfra crevasse with Dive.is was an absolutely unique experience that we can highly recommend to any diver. From the booking to the last dive everything was perfectly organized and professional. Booking and communication: It became clear at the time of booking that Dive.is has an experienced and customer-oriented team. Communication in advance was fast and straightforward, and all questions about the requirements and the process were answered in detail. Particularly impressive was the clear guidance regarding the equipment and preparation for the dive. The dive: The Silfra crevasse is a truly magical place, and the dive exceeded all expectations. The visibility underwater is breathtaking – you almost feel like you’re in an aquarium surrounded by crystal clear water fed from the surrounding glaciers. The colors of the water, which range from blue to turquoise, are simply surreal. The tranquility and beauty of the dive are hard to put into words. The Dive.is team looked after us perfectly throughout the dive. The guides were extremely professional, calm and competent. They made sure we always felt safe and answered all our questions about the geological features of the Silfra crevasse and the local flora and fauna. Equipment and safety: All the equipment was in excellent condition and was thoroughly checked before the dive. The guides explained the safety precautions and gave us valuable tips on how to behave optimally in freezing water. The fact that Dive.is regularly checks security protocols also gave us additional confidence. After the dive: After the dive there was a small opportunity to warm up and share the experiences. Dive.is offered us hot tea and snacks, which was a very welcome gesture after the dive in the cold water. The guides took the time to talk to us about what they had experienced and tell us even more about the Silfra Rift and the geology of the region. Conclusion: A dive at the Silfra crevasse is a unique experience, and Dive.is has made this experience a real highlight of our Icelandic adventure. From the first contact to the last moment everything was top organized and professional. If you are in Iceland and love diving, Dive.is is definitely the right partner to experience this extraordinary natural wonder in its full glory. We will definitely come back!

Sara, our dive guide, was super informative and helpful. She took awesome pictures of our dive and made to cold, rainy dive much more fun! There were changing vans but be prepared for all sexes to be changing in the same van. Silfra was awesome. The visibility was amazing and truly a unique diving experience!

From the first point of contact the staff were friendly and professional taking time to explain each step and ensuring that all our equipment fitted properly and was in good working order. Special mention to Anezka who went above and beyond to ensure that everyone in our party was safe and comfortable, even adjusting suits and masks to ensure a great watertight fit. She talked to each of us regularly through the entire route ensuring we were getting the maximum from the experience. A great asset to the company and I would definitely use them again for future trips.

Fantastic opportunity, great team of staff, very friendly and helpful. It was a great experience and a huge bucket list tik off while visiting Iceland. The water wasn’t as cold as we had expected and the kit was great to keep us warm but highly advise wearing your own layers underneath to help and the bit chocolate and biscuits at the end was perfect!

We loved diving with Dive.IS. They were incredibly attentive and everyone was so nice. I never felt more like royalty 🤣🤣. And if you get the chance to dive with Elsa you are in for a treat. She is really funny and friendly. She took amazing photos and practically saved me and my clumsy self 3 times. You will never be safer.

Well... my first TripAdvisor review ever! No need to say, that the price tag on that tour, especially combined with the drysuit course, was exceptionally pricey (even more than my flight + rental car combined). But that's all I have on the downside. It was absolutely worth it! There's surely no other place like this in the world, so it's an experience for a lifetime. The dive itself took only 30 minutes, dressing up and getting out of that suit again plus waiting and the dive was around 2 hours. We were a group of three scuba divers and we were taken on the dive by Elsa, a very experienced trainer. I felt safe the whole dive, even though I'm surely not the most experienced diver (only 8 dives so far). She was also pretty funny, of course not under water, she switched to absolutely professional mode and she was suddenly completely mute (I wonder why) 😏 Oh and the staff was extremely helpful, we got the full service, including dressing up. I totally recommend that for everyone in good physical condition. The walk back from the exit isn't long, but the gear is *really* weighty!!! So I'm telling everyone at home and probably if someone wants to join in, I may return regardless of the price tag 😅🙈🤷
