Be prepared for a lot of steep, uphill walking, and then steep, downhill walking. There are also many steps. The views, however, are worth the struggle. The description of the trip is incomplete. After seeing the castle, we went to Sintra for amazing pastries, then we went to the westernmost point of Europe. After that, we went to Cacais, where we had time for lunch, then returned to Lisbon. We left Lisbon at 8:00 and returned around 16:30. Our guide, Pedro, was outstanding. I have taken many excursions with guides, and Pedro is the best that I have ever had. He definitely knows the history, which he makes so interesting. He connects with each tour member and makes him/her feel welcomed and valued. His knowledge of pop culture and music really connected with our college-age members. He is a total professional and loves his work.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip from start to finish. Xavier, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and really personable. The tour of the castle was great, there was time to take photos etc and Xavier’s instructions were also very clear. He gave us a great commentary when we were in the car driving between places and recommendations for cafes and restaurants were also excellent. Cascais was very pretty and we loved standing at Cabo da Roca too. An excellent day out, which we would highly recommend.

We were incredibly lucky to have Sergio as our guide. A brilliant historian with a genuine passion for Portuguese culture, Sergio elevated the experience from great to exceptional. Not only did he offer insight to the sites we visited, like the Pena Palace, but he also gave superb recommendations for local food and hidden photo spots. One thing that really stood out was his effort to learn and remember everyone's name on the tour, a personal touch that made us feel welcome. The tour itself was well organized and perfectly paced. There was enough time to explore key sights and grab a sweet pastry. This tour is highly recommended!

After booking the wrong tour, I was meant to book the all day e-bike tour, I had to admit my error but off we went in the van all day trip. Bernardo was lovely but I wished for the money we spent that we had more information about the areas we visited. The people of 6 that we went with certainly made up for my mistake. They were just delightful and we enjoyed morning tea and lunch together. Final advice, double check your tours and don’t have multiple tours open on your phone!! 😩🙃
