Sitka Sea Level Adventures is a local & family-run tour company in Sitka, Alaska. Specializing in whale watching & marine wildlife tours, we explore Sitka Sound & the pristine wilderness around the Tongass National Forest & the volcanic coastline of our island home. The surrounding waters are a marine playground for several whale species, including Humpback, Gray, and Killer Whales, sea lions, sea otters, eagles, puffins & sea birds galore!

What To Expect
Sitka
Sitka Sound is home to some of the most amazing wildlife in the world. On our trips we often see seals, sea lions, sea otters, and whales. There is a wide variety of birds in our area as well: bald eagles, puffins, and muir are just a few that stand out. Sitka Blacktail deer and Brown Bears are also a common sight. This wildlife tour is perfect for those looking to experience the breathtaking and overwhelming scenery the Tongass National Forest has to offer, with fantastic opportunities for photography and making memories. No animal sightings are guaranteed. All trips are unique due to weather and time of year.

5.00We scheduled an excusion for Whale watching that was cancelled and luckily we rebooked with Sitka’s Best Local Whale Watching & Marine Wildlife Tour. We were fortunate to have Joel, as our captian who did not cancel and was willing to take 2 of us out for a couple hours for whale watching. We did see a couple whales, this is early in the season for Alaskan whale watching so the sightings were not numerous or spectacular. Our captain Joel however was engaging and knowledgeable about the area. We were given a great history of Sitka and Alaskan marine life. I would highly recommend this company and Joel as the captain for your excusion.

5.00Oh my!!! Jaren is the whale whisperer!! We booked some excursions through ship and some on our own. Recommend booking on your own and #1 with Jaren and his company. Most memorable excursion and he was so wonderful!!!! Many whales and close up with in safety of the whales! THANK YOU Jaren! Kris and Larry. Can't wait to do this again.

5.00We booked a one-hour tour with Jaren at Sitka Sea Level Adventures, and it was one of the highlights of our time in Sitka. From the moment we set off, his passion for the area was obvious. His knowledge of Sitka, its wildlife, and the local environment was exceptional, and he shared it all with such enthusiasm that it made the experience even more special. We were lucky enough to see humpback whales and sea otters, which was absolutely incredible, but what made the tour truly memorable was the way Jaren took us to a peaceful, beautiful part of the bay that felt completely untouched. It was calm, stunning, and gave us a real sense of the natural beauty of Alaska. If you’re visiting Sitka, I would highly recommend booking a tour with Jaren. 5.00Fun boat ride with Captain Brody! Lots of local info and stunning surroundings on the water! Great comfortable boat with an indoor cabin and seating for our small group! Bald eagles, otters and seals, we searched for the humpback which eluded us…! Next time…!

3.00I'm confused by the reviews. We arrived at the meeting place. We walked to the boat and the red flags went off. There were only 6 of us on this boat. First, there are no seats on the boat. He had two ice chest on the boat and said we can sit on them. Next, its an open boat, yes there was a roof with open sides, but I didn't do anything when the Captain is flying across the water with older people on the boat and it's raining. I have a boat and if I wanted to throw someone out, I would have drove just like him. You can tell the boat is a small fishing boat and used mainly for fishing tours. I gave three stars because the Captain tried hard to find Whales, the weather was not his fault, but his lack of safety and realizing who was on his boat, was mystifying.
