What To Expect
Experience the unique landscape and warm hospitality of the North of Norway. This is where we offer you Tromsø’s Best Kept Secret with its wild, breath-taking and tranquil scenery. On our Arctic Ice Fishing Adventure, you will take part in one of the most loved winter activities of the north. The tour starts with a scenic drive along fjords and mountains before entering a hidden valley surrounded by even more wild and rugged mountains. On the ice we chill out on cozy reindeer hides while slowly wiggling the rods to attract the big catch. At the same time, it’s impossible not to get mesmerized and intrigued by the surrounding breath-taking nature and everchanging light conditions of the Arctic. Dress warmly so you have the best chance of fully enjoying your time on the ice. We serve hot drinks and snacks while fishing. Though we cannot guarantee the big catch on every tour, this surely will be a fascinating and once-in-a-lifetime experience. Both this activity and the snowshoe trip, is a great choice for those who want to explore and experience wild tranquil nature, culture and Arctic elements at their best in one of the most beautiful places in the North of Norway.

5.00We loved this day of ice fishing in Tromsø, a truly memorable experience of our stay. The guide was extremely kind, dynamic and passionate: he shared very interesting information about Norwegian culture throughout the day and made the activity fun with a quiz and a great atmosphere. The setting was simply beautiful, especially with beautiful weather that allows you to fully enjoy the landscape of the frozen lake. Even if we didn’t catch any fish, it didn’t take anything away from the magic of the moment. We highly recommend this experience, especially in good weather, to live a real timeless moment in the Norwegian nature.

4.00Starting from Tromsø, take 1h30 drive to reach the lake. The weather conditions were not terrible, lots of wind and snow. On site we equip you with cold suits and snowshoes, so make sure to equip yourself well for everything else: boots, very warm clothes, do not hesitate to stack the layers, the suit will go over. Take heaters and other heating equipment. Also take water and possibly something to snack on. On site you can enjoy a small tomato soup and a light local snack. Gudmond, was our guide and Morton was our driver. Gudmond gives a lot of explanations (in English) and is very funny we have a very good time with him. On the lake you remove the snow to make your hole and use it to make you a "siege", a layer of rubber or reindeer skin and your place is ready. We give you your rod and maggots and it's gone for about 2 hours of fishing. The language barrier spoiled the experience a bit because we misunderstood the fishing instructions, we had to be almost "full" while we understood the reverse. Gudmond realized it, but with 15 minutes to go, we went home fuzzy. Three possible types of fish: perch, trout and Arctic grayling. Fish caught can bring back for cooking. A great experience even if the fish was not at the rendezvous... Thanks to Gudmond and Morton.

5.00This was a great way for some who lives in the tropics to experience something quintessentially Nordic. Our host Gudmund was charming, funny and absolutely intent on making sure that everyone was having a great experience in what were very trying conditions. We had heaps of fun and even caught fish! The transport is comfortable, warm and punctual. The hot tip is to remember that this is an adventure in nature and you need to dress and manage your bathroom requirements accordingly.
Wonderful tour! So worth it.

5.00We had a fantastic day with Gudmund as our guide. It was raining and unfortunately we didn’t catch a fish, but he did a great job telling us about the local culture. It was raining when we went out but we were given suits and thankfully I was wearing snow boots - my advice would be to make sure you have good shoes and waterproof gloves, you need them. I’d also recommend bringing your own snacks / drinks as it is a big day out! All in all, it was an awesome experience and I’d recommend it to everyone!

5.00An absolutely unforgettable excursion! Ice fishing at Sandsvatnet from Tromsø was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ride took place in a friendly and safe atmosphere thanks to a Mathieu driver, impeccable. As for the “Goodman” guide, he was simply great: passionate, caring, very pedagogical and always ready to share his knowledge and good humor. Even for beginners, everything is explained clearly, allowing you to enjoy the activity to the fullest. The landscapes are breathtaking and the organization is perfect. I recommend this excursion without hesitation to all those who want to live an authentic and memorable experience in Norway!

5.00Would 100% recommend this fantastic experience. You are taken to a remote lake surrounded by beautiful mountains where the scenery is stunning. The tour guides were so friendly, informative and entertaining. Would definitely recommend the experience and would 100% book again should we return to Tromso.
