Really enjoyed the day, lovely drivers who were very informative and funny. Made everyone feel welcome. Did the Skyrail-ITM first and it was amazing. Train back and staff in gold class were really friendly and helpful. Only negative for me is the time spent in Kuranda between leaving the sky rail & boarding the train…. 4 hours is far too long! Could do with shortening a few hours.
Not quite “skip the line” but none the less very good.

Seat in gold class are allocated and so if you’re on the wrong side you don’t get the views. Make sure you leave time for cable car stops if you allocated that return journey.

This was a great experience. Plenty of time in Kuranda and the gold class ride back was a blast. Our server was really funny, kept our glasses full and had us ready for the photo ops. Gold class was worth every penny.

Parts of the tour were good others not so much .. the Skyrail was fine and the train back was good , we were on the gold coach which served drinks and other goodies .. but the stay in Kuranda was too long , not much to do , we did the Koala , bird and Butterfly exhibit in less than an hour then we waited 3 + hours for the train back .. maybe should have shorter times between return trips ?

The actual experience was phenomenal - the rain forest and the train ride were exceptional. The communication with the tour provider was terrible/non-existent, Our pickup time was scheduled at 8:15 - no messages from the tour provider “Down Under TOurs”, so we waited for the pickup, When no one had arrived by 8:30, we tried to contact the tour company, but only found a non-working number. I contacted Viator and was told that the pickup was changed to 8:40 - we were NEVER informed or contacted by Down Under Tours. ALso, this is billed as a “skip the line’, but we never skipped any lines, so I don’t know what that referred to. We would recommend this activity, but with a different tour company!!

Great day out. It is a self guided tour with pick up and drop off but I think it can feel a bit confusing in the beginning. But the tour is easy to follow once you start. There is not restaurants with healthy food. Most is fast food. The village stalls sell similar products.

What a fabulous experience. We paid a few extra dollars & travelled Gold class. I highly recommend this. We were very spoilt with pastries, muffin, cheese platter & wine. The cheese platter was served on the return trip from Kuranda village. Very scenic. The train was very full so I would recommend booking early.

It’s a very special way to see the magnificent rainforest & waterfalls; and it provides an appreciation for the engineering wonder that resulted in the construction of the Sky Rail and the train track between Cairns & Kurrumba

If you travel from Kuranda to Cairns, get a seat on the left side of the train. That's where the views are.
