5.00This was a great experience. Plenty of time in Kuranda and the gold class ride back was a blast. Our server was really funny, kept our glasses full and had us ready for the photo ops. Gold class was worth every penny.

5.00The actual experience was phenomenal - the rain forest and the train ride were exceptional. The communication with the tour provider was terrible/non-existent, Our pickup time was scheduled at 8:15 - no messages from the tour provider “Down Under TOurs”, so we waited for the pickup, When no one had arrived by 8:30, we tried to contact the tour company, but only found a non-working number. I contacted Viator and was told that the pickup was changed to 8:40 - we were NEVER informed or contacted by Down Under Tours. ALso, this is billed as a “skip the line’, but we never skipped any lines, so I don’t know what that referred to. We would recommend this activity, but with a different tour company!!

5.00Great day out. It is a self guided tour with pick up and drop off but I think it can feel a bit confusing in the beginning. But the tour is easy to follow once you start. There is not restaurants with healthy food. Most is fast food. The village stalls sell similar products.

5.00What a fabulous experience. We paid a few extra dollars & travelled Gold class. I highly recommend this. We were very spoilt with pastries, muffin, cheese platter & wine. The cheese platter was served on the return trip from Kuranda village. Very scenic. The train was very full so I would recommend booking early.

5.00Once the ticketing confusion was sorted out, it was a terrific experience. The staff through out the whole day were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The fact that it rained for most of the day did not deter from the breathtaking scenery.
Take this tour and take the Gold class train!

5.00This tour was efficient, well run, and very enjoyable! We were picked up on time and taken to the tram. We were given great instructions on how to get on the tram and return on the train. There were a few stops on the way, which were enjoyable to see. Once reaching Kuranda, we were able to have lunch at a nice Vietnamese restaurant and then walked through the whole town. The highlight was taking the gold class version of the train on our return. Highly recommend! We had an assigned car and seats. Upon boarding the train, we were given menus, which indicated what we would be served. There were choices of wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks. We were given macadamia nuts as a starter. Once the train stopped at one viewpoint, and we boarded again, we were given a cheese platter with fruit and crackers. Later we received mango sorbet and before de-boarding we received a postcard and pen. The gold class experience is the way to go!

5.00Very satisfied with this tour! We were picked up promptly on schedule in a comfortable large bus, and our driver Kelvin was both pleasant and efficient. From there, we were dropped off at the Skyrail. The wait to board was about 20–25 minutes, but the ride was beautiful, with two scenic stops along the way to explore boardwalks through the jungle and take in views of Barron Falls. Upon arriving in Kuranda, there was plenty of time to enjoy all three animal interactive parks (Koalas, Butterflies, and Birds), have lunch, and browse the markets. The return trip on the Scenic Railway in Gold Class was a highlight—spacious assigned seating, friendly service with wine/beer, and light snacks (nuts, cheese & crackers, sorbet) made it feel special. At Freshwater Station, another large bus was waiting for drop-off, making the whole day smooth and easy. While it was somewhat self-guided, the convenience of not having to book multiple tickets or figure out transport was a huge plus.

5.00It’s a really scenic day, loved the cable car up and train back. I read other reviews so was prepared to have a decent amount of time in Kuranda. We walked slowly and genuinely enjoyed our time at the Koala and Butterfly sanctuaries. Getting to pet a Koala and take a photo was great (not included in ticket cost). There was plenty of time to shop and sit and have a nice lunch before heading back to town. Our bus was on time for pick up and drop off. All staff was lovely and we really enjoyed our day!

5.00The tour is a very enjoyable way to and from Kuranda. There is lots to do in Kuranda. Go with the gold option on the scenic railway and enjoy a drink and snacks in comfort on your journey home.
