This was such a cool museum with fantastic exhibits. The ladies in the gift shop were so welcoming and gave us lots of pointers on how to spend our day in Mobile.

This is a really fun small museum but they really pack a ton of costumes, embroidered robes, and history into each room!

A place to learn about Mardi Gras and Mobile’s Mardi Gras history! The Mardi Gras costumes were very ornate. We did the guided tour. The guide was very informative and did an excellent job explaining the displays and the history of Mardi Gras!

Katerine provided a great tour with local insights, history, architecture and of course food. She watched over us with humor and genuine concern.

I love the history of Mardi Gras so I was looking forward to visiting the museum. Everyone was kind and helpful. The museum is gorgeous with incredible artifacts and precious collectibles from Mardi Gras. I spent much more time here than I expected to...there is a lot to read and see. The building is historic and each room was filled with fabulous costumes and photographs. I loved learning this history. I am thankful for its preservation.

For just $8, this small museum was packed with beautiful memorabilia and our tour guide literally “wrote the book” about Mardi Gras. He was a wealth of knowledge and very entertaining.

We loved learning the history of Mardi Gras before our first parade experience. The museum was very busy because of the parade but, we felt our guides excitement as a parade participant as she revealed the history and magic of Mardi Gras.

My son and I stopped by on a whim thinking it would be about a hour tour with a few artifacts and photographs. Wow, was I wrong! I was bowled over by the many many costumes, gowns-especially gowns-that were on display along with many vintage posters, sketches, and sparkling crowns. The tour guide, a local architect/historian named C Roberts, had a plethora of knowledge about all things Carnival and very entertaining! I learned many many new facts about Mardi Gras.
