Our main tour guide, Max, was wonderful! He knew a lot about the area and gave us very clear instructions of meeting places and our itinerary. Luigi, our bus driver, was AMAZING! He navigated the narrow and windy streets with professionalism!! Roberta was a great guide at Pompeii - she had great background knowledge and a fun sense of humor. We really appreciated that we could hike Mt Vesuvius on our own- and at our own pace. There were places to sit if you didn’t want to hike to the top! I highly recommend this tour and the tour company!!

Expect a decent amount of walking over cobblestone streets. Dress warmly for the high altitude of Mount Vesuvious.

We had a great experience. Max was our guide. He did a great job ensuring everyone on the tour knew what to expect for our hike and information while driving from site to site. We had Isabella as a tour guide for Pompeii very informative only get to see 3-4 sections of Pompeii which was enough for my husband and I (if you want to see more of Pompeii book a longer tour versus this one which includes hiking up Vesuvius) Great experience highly recommended.

A well organised trip, starting from the pick up point at Iamme Mia in Sorrento which was easy to find. Glad to have finally got to go to Pompeii, especially as there had been so many programmes on tv this year to learn more about recent excavations. We booked the joint tour of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, so only had 2 hours in Pompeii, which as always is never enough. Our tour guide Dani was lovely and very helpful, and the tour around the parts of Pompeii we did get to see was lovely but over very quickly, and only sadly covering a very small part. It would have been nice to have seen the amphitheatre, but there wasn't enough time. The coach then took us most of the way up Mount Vesuvius, with a 20 minute climb to the crater, from where the views were amazing. It was a lovely day out, but if you want to spend more time in Pompeii you probably need to go around it on your own for longer, rather than with a tour.

Great history of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Bus driver and guide Dani were wonderful. Tour guide, Francesco, in Pompeii was so good at explaining the many areas. Climbing Mount Vesuvius was quite a steep climb for someone who doesn’t hike frequently, but the view is spectacular and worth the hike.

It is fantastic, those who like archaeology and history, is a full dish but for those who want to get to the top, that is, the Vesuvius crater, need to be prepared, the rise is a little pulled.

Danni, our guide for the day, was very good and Isabella our tour guide in Pompeii was great, but the group was far too large. There were 34 of us with one guide and it just didn’t work. We had understood there would be more tour guides and in smaller groups the experience would have been much better. Our climb of Vesuvius was hard going on our 60 year old knees but it was fantastic to get to the top and see into the volcano and the views were spectacular. Would definitely recommend if group numbers were smaller.

Great tour with lots of walking. Be prepared for a long, challenging climb to the top of Mt Vesuvius. Approx 35min + to the top. Wear good comfortable shoes as the path is uneven and loose gravel. Overall, the climb is worth it for the fantastic views.
