5.00This two-hour tour was a great introduction to Siena’s history and culture, and to the stunning Duomo. As another reviewer noted, the tour does spend a lot of time discussing the Palio, but by the end of the tour you understand that the event is central to Siena’s identity. We appreciated our guide Ambra for her clear explanations and passionate familiarity with the history of the city and its internal rivalries. Highly recommend, especially on a Sunday, when you can take a tour that starts at midafternoon and therefore avoids the hottest part of the day.
