Hofburg tickets (Sisi Museum & Imperial Apartments) include timed entry to skip the ticket line.
The corridors in the Sisi Museum are narrow, crowded and loud, so you will need to stay close to the guide.
2025: Sisi Museum is under renovation, so access to certain rooms and exhibitions is restricted.
Free entry to courtyards, Heldenplatz & Burggarten.
The gardens are not green or lit in winter—book a morning tour or visit in spring, summer or autumn. For guest safety, if the weather is bad (e.g. snowy day), we will offer an alternative route. From 08.11 to 31.12, you will have a chance to visit a local Christmas Market instead.
What To Expect
Meet your guide at Schullin "Watches in the Looshaus", Michaelerplatz 3. Closest Subway Station: Herrengasse, Bus Stop: Michaelerplatz. Wait in front of the white building with a green-grey marble facade, 4 columns at the entrance and a gold inscription "SCHULLIN" above. Start your tour with a look around Michaelerplatz, a historic square framed by elegant Baroque architecture and the Hofburg Palace. This charming plaza sets the stage for your journey through imperial Vienna.

3.00The building is magnificent, the rooms are sumptuous. The problem is that we rushed through the palace due to the number of groups doing the same.... and the guide keeps looking at his watch... and on top of that, he lectures about political morals! Let him provide historical references and allow people to vote for whom they want!

3.00Wow, this is difficult to say. I love visiting palaces, and the Hofburg is beautiful, but the Sisi Museum was a letdown. The guide escorting us was excellent, but the price doesn’t justify the time and money. I’m not a big Sisi fan, so that probably plays a part. A much better use of your time would be the Austrian National Library or the other museums and churches nearby. Sorry — it hurts me to say this.

3.00Tour guide was knowledgeable but had an irritating habit of asking too many questions throughout the tour. Who do you think did this…or can you guess etc. etc.. and when nobody answered, she had an irritated/exasperated response…as if we were all just dumb tourists, despite the fact we somehow managed to make it here from around the world! We just wanted to learn stuff, not to be insulted! Just saying

5.00Christine, our guide, was an amazing source of historical knowledge. How she kept track of centuries, dates, buildings, and the ruling Viennese family tree is beyond me. We never felt rushed but still covered an enormous amount of information. The Sisi Museum could use some updating, but Christine was a very good shepherd. A walk through the beautiful gardens to view monuments and government buildings provided some fresh air. This tour is a must to get you started in Vien.
