I want to be very clear with my review: the tour operator was fantastic, very easy to communicate and accommodating. We did the unescorted tickets for the Vatican Museum (NOT the guided tour). We couldn’t get to Rome to pick our tickets up beforehand, so he was very helpful getting them to us. And have great directions for redemption (told us what gate to enter and reminded us to bring ID’s). I did not enjoy the experience of the Vatican Museum. There were so many people. You couldn’t really stop to enjoy the artwork without getting run over. It was a constant flow of people all just being pushed/ushered through to get to the Sistine Chapel. Very hard to read information about the pieces of artwork you were viewing. Very hard to take photographs as museum workers were telling folks to just keep moving and not to stop. We went early in the day (tickets were for 10:30 AM) and we waited about 20 minutes to enter. With the crowds expected for Jubilee this year, I’d honestly skip this experience unless you have your heart set on seeing the Sistine Chapel. We went in February and I can’t imagine waiting 3-4 hours (or more!) even with “skip the line” tickets.

Easy way to enjoy the tour without worrying about a line. It was a rainy morning with long lines and our guide was super easy to spot and walked us all the way through. Worth the price.

The person who had my tickets ask me if I preferred he send them to my WhatsApp so that way I would not have to loose time finding him, so that was a great idea.

Skip the line tickets is the way to go! But do not take the guided tour. We were able to view the exhibits we wanted to see without being rushed through.
