Vatican City, one of the most sacred locations in Christianity, is a monument to a spiritual quest with a two-thousand-year history. The Vatican is inextricably linked to the history of Christianity because it is the final burial place of the Apostle Saint Peter, the first in a long line of Roman Pontiffs, and a major destination for pilgrims. It is also a flawless work of art and a superb illustration of Baroque and Renaissance painting. It began to have a big impact on the advancement of the arts in the sixteenth century.
The Lateran Treaty, signed on February 11, 1929, established the state and gave it jurisdiction over 44 hectares in the heart of Rome.

Sistine Chapel
The murals that cover the whole ceiling and walls of the Sistine Chapel captivate visitors' attention more than the architecture of the structure. In addition to being the location of the pope's most important rites, the Holy College of Cardinals uses the pope's private chapel, the Sistine Chapel, to select the next pope when a post becomes available. The chapel is closed when it is not in use, though, for practical reasons. People come from all over the world to see the incredible artworks hidden inside.
Vatican Museums
The Museum of Vatican History is just one of the many outstanding Vatican Museums. When Pope Paul first founded the Historical Museum in 1973. The collection was kept below ground level in a square garden. It wasn't until 1987 that it transferred to the main floor of the Lateran Apostolic Palace, and it wasn't until March 1991 that it was made public again. The Vatican City Museums were first founded in 1503 by then-Pope Julius. The museum's collection of artworks grew from the private collections of wealthy families to include public holdings from the future pope and successive popes. Due to the Vatican Museums' extensive collection and growing need for additional buildings to house the artwork, the Vatican Museum of History was established.

Great that we had tickets sent direct so didn't have to find agent. Used the app also to store tickets. It was so busy, they let too many people in, so it felt very uncomfortable. We arrived early and they made us wait in a line for 9.30 entrance which was prompt. Felt a paper map would of been useful as using phone and taking photos drained battery. The art work was amazing, and Sisteen Chapel breath taking. Have used Viator for many attractions and felt very good. Using for Colluseum tomorrow.

Drop off/meeting place not clear. Lots of lines and was unclear what language I was booking tour in—paid for private tour, then told I booked wrong language so we did get ticket, but were on our own….have booked 5 other tours while in Rome and no problems—think there are different tour operators using Viator—not necessarily same experience for same places. Make sure you have actual pdf of tickets -not just voucher That being said—Sistene Chapel and Vatican museum amazing and worth any hassles!

The visit to the Vatican museums and the Sistine chapel is undoubtedly a unique and totally essential experience. The place is stunning and worth it. However, the organization on the platform was not up to scratch: they changed our schedule from 11:00 to 14:00 with no option but to accept, which forced us to reorganize all day. In addition, we were initially assigned to a group with a guide in Italian, despite knowing that we were not Italian or having booked a group, which created confusion at the beginning. Besides, the difference in price of the platform with the official tickets...

Skip the line isn’t really skip the line. Told to arrive 30 mins early so I did. Stood in a giant queue in the rain getting drenched, only to hit the front of the line and told by security we are too early. Had to wait in the rain and then queue up again.

There is a long queue, it is imperative to book your tickets in advance but thanks to Viator, everything went very well

The title of the tour was "Skip the Line" however, that was not the caae. We had to wait in a very long line with others who also bought the so-called "Skip the Line". When we did make our way inside, it was a nice tour, but it would have been nicer with details associated with direction or order of the museum and chapel.

I tried to enter the museum with the ticket that was sent to me on the day, but my name was a different person, and even if I read the barcode, I just got an error. Of course, there is no way you can enter the museum. I honestly can't believe it when people say this is a legitimate ticket. As a result, he got himself into complete trouble for nothing and had to wait in line for tickets at the door. What's more, we waited four hours in the cold of winter before finally entering the museum. It literally took away precious time and energy from my trip. I will never use such a sloppy correspondence site again. If there are people who are going to use it, I strongly recommend that they stop. There is no other option but to book on the official website. Even if the official reservation is full, it will take a while, but I would still rather be in line from the start for the door than have the same thing happen using this site. It was really the worst experience.
