Vatican City, one of the most sacred locations in Christianity, is a monument to a spiritual quest with a two-thousand-year history. The Vatican is inextricably linked to the history of Christianity because it is the final burial place of the Apostle Saint Peter, the first in a long line of Roman Pontiffs, and a major destination for pilgrims. It is also a flawless work of art and a superb illustration of Baroque and Renaissance painting. It began to have a big impact on the advancement of the arts in the sixteenth century.
The Lateran Treaty, signed on February 11, 1929, established the state and gave it jurisdiction over 44 hectares in the heart of Rome.

Sistine Chapel
The murals that cover the whole ceiling and walls of the Sistine Chapel captivate visitors' attention more than the architecture of the structure. In addition to being the location of the pope's most important rites, the Holy College of Cardinals uses the pope's private chapel, the Sistine Chapel, to select the next pope when a post becomes available. The chapel is closed when it is not in use, though, for practical reasons. People come from all over the world to see the incredible artworks hidden inside.
Vatican Museums
The Museum of Vatican History is just one of the many outstanding Vatican Museums. When Pope Paul first founded the Historical Museum in 1973. The collection was kept below ground level in a square garden. It wasn't until 1987 that it transferred to the main floor of the Lateran Apostolic Palace, and it wasn't until March 1991 that it was made public again. The Vatican City Museums were first founded in 1503 by then-Pope Julius. The museum's collection of artworks grew from the private collections of wealthy families to include public holdings from the future pope and successive popes. Due to the Vatican Museums' extensive collection and growing need for additional buildings to house the artwork, the Vatican Museum of History was established.

you need to be technically savy. It would have been easier if the passes were emailed with the confirmation.

it's way over price just for the skip-in-line without either guided tour or include an audio tour....

TERRIBLE experience. Do NOT book with him. He canceled on us at 7:40AM when we had 8AM tickets. Said there was a “site problem”. No site problem. AVOID.

They cancelled our booking while we were on the way there at 7:40 in the morning. Said it was a problem with the Vatican site but on arrival there was no issues at the Vatican. Do not book here - we ended up having to wait in line to buy tickets.

The experience itself was good. Being able to skip the line was a timesaver however getting the tickets was a bit of a nightmare. Being from out of country meant that our wifi & data was spotty so we never received the original tickets & when we phoned customer service they took a long time to understand that we couldn’t receive the emails with the ticket download. By this time our initial contact had left. We were then instructed to go meet another agent (who ended up not being there either) before finally telling us to go to a tour vendor who printed off our tickets in no time at all. Why not just send us there first? It was very close to the location & took about 1 minute. Overall we wasted about 2 hours just trying to get our tickets then had to explain why we were late to the Vatican admissions gate. Overall though the tour was worth the time & it is worth seeing. Just make sure that you get your tickets before going to the venue.

We purchased the tickets online the day before the visit and planned our day in Rome around it. Our ticket time was scheduled for 14:30hrs. I called at 11:45hrs about collecting tickets and they explained they were busy but would send them over by email 1hr before our slot. At 13:45hrs I received a WhatsApp and call to say they had double booked our tickets and they could either give us a full refund or try for tickets at 15:30hrs with a €20 refund. At 14:04hrs they messaged to say they could not get us tickets for 15:30hrs and would have to refund us. This meant it was now too late to get any other tickets that day. Thankfully we had another day in Rome! I would have given 1 star but they did at least give us our money back. My advice would be to booked in advance direct through the official Vatican museum site, it’s cheaper and safer!

The long lines of people with Skip-the-Line tickets was very surprising & we were confused as to which line we shoukd be in. Obvious thousands of others had them so seeing much of the museum and Sistine Chapel was a long process. We were happy we got to see everything but wouldn't recommend going during the Jubliee.

The best way to see a major attraction is by not lining up. We were able to walk right I , bypassing the extremely long line on a hot day.
