St. Peter's Basilica is an active parish and therefore subject to last-minute closures due to mass or other religious events. In these cases, we will offer an extended tour of the Vatican Museums (including areas normally not part of the tour). No refunds are issued for unexpected closures.
All participants (including under 18s) must bring valid ID.
All participants MUST cover their knees and shoulders during visits to religious sites, the Vatican Museums included. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
Please notice that we are not responsible for the number of visitors the Vatican Museums allow inside.
Large umbrellas are not allowed, please leave these at your accommodations.
Your tour voucher is valid only for the day and time reserved. We’re unable to accommodate late arrivals due to a strictly timed entrance ticket to the Vatican Museums. Missed tours or tickets due to late arrivals are non-refundable. Please allow extra time to reach the meeting point as Rome's streets can be confusing. Meeting time is 15 minutes before the start time of the tour.
ACCESSIBILITY: While the Vatican Museums are equipped with elevators for wheelchair access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only give access to specific sections of the Museums. As a result, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs or walkers on this tour.
Passport/ID : Due to Vatican security regulations, we strongly recommend you bring a picture of your ID document with you for all participants, in case the Vatican guards check.
Meeting Point: The meeting point is our office, very close to the Museums' entrance, the exact address is Via Santamaura 14B. The closest Metro stop is Ottaviano. Please allow extra time due to traffic during the summer months! If you do need assistance with how to reach the meeting point, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Vatican City
We continue our visit entering Vatican City, the smallest country in the world. Encircled by a 2-mile border with Italy, Vatican City is an independent city-state that covers just over 100 acres, making it one-eighth the size of New York’s Central Park. Vatican City is governed as an absolute monarchy with the pope at its head. The Vatican mints its own euros, prints its own stamps, issues passports, licenses plates operates media outlets and has its own flag and anthem. One government function it lacks: taxation. Museum admission fees, stamp and souvenir sales, and contributions generate the Vatican’s revenue.
July Special: For July, the Basilica Guided Tour will also be included on Wednesday mornings, as there is no Papal Audience. Important info: • English Tour guide • Meeting Point: Office - Via Santamaura 14b • Museums, Sistine Chapel & Basilica Guided Tour
Important Information: • Please note that the 9:30 + 10:15 AM tours on Wednesdays do not include St. Peter's Basilica. • ONLY July is included

Ennis was a fantastic tour guide. We learned so much history and all about the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica. He answered all our questions and he optimized stopping points in the shade or cooler spots. Great addition to our trip to Italy.

I have been to the Vatican museum in the past. Without a guide. It was such an overwhelming experience. I have been to the Vatican museum in the past without a guide. It was an overwhelming experience. Maria did an excellent job in giving our family a little taste and history of everything. Our tour today June 9, 2026 exceeded our expectations! We were pleasantly surprised on how organized the group was from the start. Having a small group of 11 tourists with our fantastic guide Tonia was just perfect! Everything went smoothly and it was educational and so informative. We learned so much and moved very quickly through skip the lines. I definitely recommend this tour! It’s worth it!!!

The Las Vegas Marriott never fails to impress! The room upgrades make the stay even better than before, and visits to the Las Vegas Marriott have always been "superior" each time we have previously stayed. So this time let me extol the views of the Sphere from the rooms facing it for this review. We watch the Sphere's amazing graphics for hours on end and it is addictive! The Las Vegas Marriott has rooms that offer this incredible experience, and I suggest grabbing one of these rooms for a stay and just relax and enjoy the view. And, as ever, the staff make one's stay an experience to savor. The staff at this Marriott are exemplary of "customer service" values.

Wonderful experience with Barbara and Get a Life Tours this morning! We met Barbara a the nearby tour office nd she skillfully directed our tour of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. This is a crowded, very popular venue, but she managed our total small group of 12, including our family group of five, so that we got the best possible tour without waiting very long at any point. A native Roman who loves and knows her city and the Vatican so well, we enjoyed her charming expertise. The Vatican is a bucket list, not to be missed experience for anyone fortunate enough to come to Rome and a good guide is essential for an optimal visit. We were pleased to have that.

What a wonderful experience! There's so much to see and learn! We truly appreciated having a tour guide like Valentina to share her vast knowledge of Vatican art and history. She did an extraordinary job of keeping our group organized and moving at a comfortable pace. As we saw long lines throughout the tour, we were happy that we selected a skip the line tour and had someone like Valentina to help us navigate through the crowds. Thank you What A Life Tours for an amazing day!
