St. Peter's Basilica is an active parish and therefore subject to last-minute closures due to mass or other religious events. In these cases, we will offer an extended tour of the Vatican Museums (including areas normally not part of the tour). No refunds are issued for unexpected closures.
All participants (including under 18s) must bring valid ID.
All participants MUST cover their knees and shoulders during visits to religious sites, the Vatican Museums included. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
Please notice that we are not responsible for the number of visitors the Vatican Museums allow inside.
Large umbrellas are not allowed, please leave these at your accommodations.
Your tour voucher is valid only for the day and time reserved. We’re unable to accommodate late arrivals due to a strictly timed entrance ticket to the Vatican Museums. Missed tours or tickets due to late arrivals are non-refundable. Please allow extra time to reach the meeting point as Rome's streets can be confusing. Meeting time is 15 minutes before the start time of the tour.
ACCESSIBILITY: While the Vatican Museums are equipped with elevators for wheelchair access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only give access to specific sections of the Museums. As a result, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs or walkers on this tour.
Passport/ID : Due to Vatican security regulations, we strongly recommend you bring a picture of your ID document with you for all participants, in case the Vatican guards check.
Meeting Point: The meeting point is our office, very close to the Museums' entrance, the exact address is Via Santamaura 14B. The closest Metro stop is Ottaviano. Please allow extra time due to traffic during the summer months! If you do need assistance with how to reach the meeting point, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Vatican City
We continue our visit entering Vatican City, the smallest country in the world. Encircled by a 2-mile border with Italy, Vatican City is an independent city-state that covers just over 100 acres, making it one-eighth the size of New York’s Central Park. Vatican City is governed as an absolute monarchy with the pope at its head. The Vatican mints its own euros, prints its own stamps, issues passports, licenses plates operates media outlets and has its own flag and anthem. One government function it lacks: taxation. Museum admission fees, stamp and souvenir sales, and contributions generate the Vatican’s revenue.

The tour was perfect... loved how it was easy to hear our guide whom we would have been lost without. Being able to skip lines was very helpful, especially amongst the crowds of people. Our guide, Emma,! was kind, sweet, and quite brilliant.

Elizabetha was my guide and she was fabulous. Her enthusiasm for the art, craftsmanship and spectacle of the spaces we visited was a highlight. She was warm and humorous but never cheesy. Her passion for the spaces and her knowledge elevated my experience. Visiting the Vatican etc is hectic and there is no getting around that. However to have a quality guide makes all the difference. Oh, and I felt like we saw everything and we weren’t cheated out of seeing anything (unlike some tours!).

By far our favorite tour of Rome. We were nervous going in, wondering how to move around and learn everything that needed to be known. Went through ‘What A Life Tours’ and had a blast. Our tour guide Mario was by far the best guide and most down to earth man around. Mario made an effort to remember our names, talk with us one on one, try and relate to us. As we moved along, he joked, made relatable comments/jokes, and was very knowledgeable about the Vatican itself. If or when we ever come back to Rome, I will hope we get Mario back or will contact him to find tours to take cause he was by far one of the brightest spots of Rome itself

Our tour was amazing! We had a smaller group size maybe only about 12 or 15 people, and Emma was our tour guide. She was super knowledgeable, and we had a pregnant woman and an older gentleman with mobility issues on our tour, and she made sure to go out of her way to find places for them to sit, and made sure they were comfortable throughout. She was very charismatic, and knew the history of every tapestry, painting and statue it seemed. I would 100% recommend this tour company!

Perfect tour of the Vatican. Couldn’t recommend this more by all measures. Carlotta was an amazing guide who was super friendly, had so much interesting context to share, and was looking out for everyone in the group all along the way.

What a Life Tour office easy to find, with air conditioning! Small group of 10, and with the most delightful, informative guide, Valentina. An unhurried tour, with plenty of time to take in the awesome surroundings. The selection of Vatican museums was excellent, and again, Valentina kept us entertained and informed throughout. The Sistine Chapel was wonderful, and we had as much time as we wanted to appreciate Michelangelo and Raphael's amazing works of art - there was no rushing at all. Then St. Peter's - absolutely breathtaking. Valentina provided a wealth of history and information without overloading us, and we were able to take our time and see everything we wanted to.. Overall a stunning tour!
