Travel in a heated, winterized Mercedes Sprinter van, relax at our mobile Aurora lodge, enjoy a twilight campfire meal, and sip drinks from our Borealis Brew Bar. Receive unlimited Aurora portraits from our pro photographers, plus night-lapse video and tripod rentals.
We’re the only tour with an Aurora Guarantee: If no Aurora is visible to the eye or camera on a “guaranteed night,” you get a 50% refund or free rebooking.
Disclaimer: A guaranteed night is based on real-time conditions. If any Aurora is visible by eye or camera, the night is considered fulfilled.

What To Expect
Fairbanks
As our home base, Fairbanks is one of the best locations in the world for Northern Lights viewing — located directly under the Aurora Oval. Each night, our SkyChase™ tour departs from Fairbanks and uses the Lights-for-Life™ Formula to determine the optimal location outside the city for clear skies and strong activity.
Murphy Dome
Murphy Dome is one of the highest accessible points in the Fairbanks area and occasionally used on clear-sky nights for its panoramic views and low light pollution. It’s a prime example of the remote high-elevation locations our team accesses while chasing the Aurora.

5.00Tony was absolutely amazing! He shared so much valuable information about the Aurora, took incredible photos, and even helped me with my camera settings. He was more than happy to take as many pictures as we wanted and never complained 😅. And his streak of guaranteed Aurora views was truly the icing on the cake — happy to confirm the streak is still going strong! The entire experience was outstanding, from the fire pits and heated vans to the hot chocolate, tripod rentals, and the incredibly friendly and professional team and crew. If there’s one trip you absolutely shouldn’t miss while in Alaska, it’s this one. Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience!

5.00Absolutely magical! The first spot we went to was nice and good place to settle in, get warm, and get food and drinks but didn’t really have the Northern Lights we could see with the naked eye. After driving to numerous spots without any success, the last spot we stopped at was amazing!! It was moment I’ll always remember and treasure. One of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced!!

5.00We saw amazing aurora borealis. They delivered big time We first were shuttled to the pipeline for some pictures and then onto a great spot with a fire pits and a warming trailer. We had hot drinks and even s’mores provided Photographs were taken throughout the night with us in the photos and some without, and these were provided to us about a week after and we’re included with the price. The guides were great and friendly. The vans were warm. The warming hut was fabulous and we highly recommend this experience.

Traveling in a warm, comfortable van made the long night enjoyable, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable—sharing fascinating insights about the aurora, Alaskan culture, and even photography tips that helped us capture stunning shots. The aurora guarantee gave us peace of mind, and it paid off—we saw vibrant, dancing lights that took our breath away. Warming up by the campfire while watching the sky felt magical, and the complimentary group aurora portrait was such a thoughtful touch. The small group size made it feel personal and relaxed. Booking the tour was fast & easy, from Nicole who confirmed, to Andrew & Andre who made the experience felt like a group bonding, with food, bonfire & stories. 5.00We were in Fairbanks for a week, two days of it spent at Borealis Basecamp, five nights in the city. We took the "Chase" tour as our first outing. Due to their truck being out of service, we did not have their "trailer" with us so missed out on that feature. I understand that it includes a toilet, which would have been welcome. However, the rest was as advertised. We were sent a text earlier in the say saying they'd like to start an hour early to do predicted weather, and were given the opportunity to cancel for full refund (or reschedule) if that hour was a problem. It was not for us so we stuck with the plan. The trip up was well narrated by "Tony." "Andrew" rode shotgun and looked out for moose. Normally he'd be driving the trailer. We made three stops. The first was for an outhouse break at Wickersham Dome. No lights to speak of there. Second stop we saw a little activity but ended up pressing on to our third stop where activity was very good. Sorry but I forgot to note the names of these locations. The van was parked and left running the entire time, so one could re-enter and warm up. It was about -15 that night, so staying out for any length of time meant you had to have brought warm gear. Which we did. I did not have to re-enter the van in the 90 minutes or so we were up there but DID have to use my handwarmers after taking pictures. After we'd been there a bit, Andrew set up the fire pit and had it going in no time. They position it behind the van so the firelight does not interfere with viewing. We had good activity that night, and got many pictures ourselves. Tony took quite a few, and these were shared for free soon after the trip. We had a chance to eat reindeer sausage (vegan option available) by heating it up (pre-cooked) over the fire. Yes, listen to their advice on how long to heat it. And heat your bun too. Everything is frozen by that time! The van was quite new, but cramped for anyone over 5'9". But that's just how that works. Other than that, a very nice outing, we got a lot of background on Aurora and Alaska, and got to ask many questions (for which we received good answers!)

5.00Andre and Andrew made this a truly great experience! Vans were warm and VERY nice! Frozen lake made for great pictures. Reindeer and vegan sausage was offered and warm beverages! The guides helped everyone with pictures and could not have been nicer. If you’re looking for a spectacular adventure this is it!
