Enjoy a 20-minute scenic ride to altitude on this 3-hour sky diving adventure from Wanaka. Strap yourself to a beautiful stranger and soar over the stunning Southern Alps. You will have amazing views over the snow capped mountains, glaciers, lakes and the South island's longest River, the Clutha.

Skydiving is one of life's must do's and Wanaka is one of the most stunning places to tick off your bucket list. Free transport from central Wanaka is included.

All persons over 95kg are subject to Tandem Master assessment at the drop zone. Persons 95kg – 104.9kg will incur a weight surcharge of $50, Persons 105kg-114.9kgs will incur a weight surcharge of $75 and those over 115kgs+ will incur a weight surcharge of $100 (payable at time of check in).

The minimum weight is 30kg/66lbs and all passengers must be big enough to fit safely into the harness.

Customers under the age of 18 years, must have adult onsite to sign waiver

Not recommended for participants with heart complaints, back problems or if pregnant.

Allow 3 hours return trip ex Wanaka.

Risk Warning: Your participation in parachuting activities is inherently dangerous and may involve risks. These risks include, but are not limited to those arising from prevailing conditions such as weather or health conditions you may have. Despite careful packing, the parachute may open abruptly or not open correctly which may result in injury. Unintended incidents may occur during the aircraft flight, descent or on landing.

Parachuting is done at the parachutists' own risk. Any person parachuting, training to parachute, flying in any aircraft being used for parachuting or participating in any activity carried out by Skydive Wanaka or NZONE may only do so on the distinct understanding that they do so entirely at their own risk.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

What To Expect

Your Skydive Wanaka adventure begins when you arrive at our drop zone, located 10 minutes from Central Wanaka at the Wanaka Airport. All equipment is provided, so just bring a big smile, as well as warm and comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. Once you are at the drop zone you will be greeted by our friendly staff that will help to get you checked in, geared up and ready to meet your tandem master. When you have met your 'beautiful stranger' you will head off to the plane and take a 20-minute scenic flight to altitude. As you fly over the Southern Alps your instructor will point out Mt. Cook, Mt. Aspiring, the Southern Alps, up to 6 lakes and the Clutha River. At altitude the door of the plane will open and this is where the fun begins. "Freefall feels like flying," so make sure you keep your eyes open, and capture your thrilling moments whilst reaching speeds of up to 125 miles per hour (200 kilometres per hour). After up to 60-seconds your parachute will open and you will get the chance to take in the views as you gently fly back down to the landing area. Once on the ground, celebrate your achievement while you await your edited video and photos.

Our booking was cancelled due to the weather, which is understandable. However, they charged a 1.2% card payment fee that they refused to refund, which is ridiculous. We had bookings with other outdoor activity providers that were also cancelled due to the weather, but we had no issue getting a full amount back, including the card payment fee. Moreover, they returned the money through “refund” instead of cancelling the original payment, which could result in exchange loss if you’re using a foreign credit card. BOOK THE ACTIVITY WITH THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

We had to reschedule from the Wanaka dive to Queenstown, and the team made it so easy—communication was clear and stress-free. The dive itself was brilliant. I felt safe and supported the entire time, with the staff checking in on us and making sure we were ready before the jump. I’ve always been scared of heights, but not anymore! I’ll definitely be doing this again—maybe even going higher next time. 😍

Perfect. It was our first jump and the help on-line as well as a situation was amazing. Both during preparation and during the ascent, the jump and landing was perfect. Each of our monitors on the jump gave us professionalism and security.. FULLY RECOMMENDED.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The employees were so friendly and helpful! Everything about the experience felt safe and smooth! The 12,000ft dive was the perfect sweet spot of time in free fall! Highly recommend:)

Skydive Wanaka made our first skydive experience as beautiful and it could be, the weather, the excitement, the nervous before jumping off the airplane, motivating but relaxing talking along the way with our tandem masters, the stunning view from above 15000ft, all made this experience one of the most memorable and beautiful ones. Definitely a recommended one!

54 years I've been on this rock we call home. It took until today to realise what it is to be alive. To be given the gift of life is the ultimate privilege. The next best privilege is to leap out of an aeroplane with these superb professionals. From the second you arrive, you are put at ease, made to feel like you've been mates forever. What an incredible experience. I jumped with Barna, loved it so much, booked back on and jumped with Anthony. Absolute professionals, absolutely cannot put into words how utterly unforgettable it was. This was a long term desire for me to Skydive again. It had been thirty years since jump in the military and had been thinking about it ever since. SKYDIVE WANAKA made the experience enjoyable and streamlined, and the professional skydivers on the day were fun, engaging and very reassuring through the whole time, right down to the smooth landing. Loved the experience, l will skydive again. Thank You 😊

Fantastic experience, like nothing else. We did the 15000ft jump. Definitely worth getting the photos and video they are very entertaining if nothing else. What a great way to record the experience. Very skilled and knowledgeable staff.

I jumped with my 12y old daughter and my 9y old son. I did not know that kids were allowed to jump. we had an outstanding family bounding experience. The staff and the beautiful strangers were marvellous and the organisation flawless. I had jumped in France a while ago and it was a very poor experience compared to this Wanaka experience. Needless to say the views and landscapes are magnificent there. And the option with videos and photos great to share!
