This tour is recommended for those who think Uji is one of the famous cities for tea. It made me realize that matcha has such a deep and long history, and it changed my view of Uji. The lunch shop is nice too! It was hideaway and tasted good. The guides had a deep knowledge of the subject and enjoyed it.

Half day participation, but avoid the crowds We made it run efficiently. Matcha Cafe for lunch is a hideaway Salad with matcha dressing and Roasted green tea (not roasted tea), aure, croissants sandwiches from Ratatouille, a menu that was a little different from other places. Koshoji Temple is famous as a famous temple of the Soto sect, but there are also highlights related to tea I enjoyed it. It goes without saying that Hoo-Dang, the 49-year-old Byodoin, I can see it without an upcharge. Hoshokan (Treasure Museum) is an interesting place to visit for many Bodhisattva greets you in various poses Yes, please. A leisurely cycling tour around the theme of "tea" 🚲 From the role played by the water of the Uji River, the history of Uji loved by the Heian aristocracy, to Japanese culture including the tea ceremony. I enjoyed it while admiring the depth of the guide's knowledge! Cycling along the Uji River was the most pleasant.

We had an amazing tour with Takashi. He was a great guide! We enjoyed visiting museum and then seeing both historical and scenic sites in Uji. Our stop for lunch was delicious (vegan restaurant & gluten free). After lunch more cycling. We ended the tour with matcha drink. Fabulous day. Would highly recommend AWA-RE Inc!

Takashi was an amazing guide! We did a private tour (just me and my wife) and he did an excellent job guiding us around, explaining the history, showing us the most scenic spots, and generally ensuring we had a great time. For English speakers, this tour is especially recommend as he took us through places and explained things very well. Tour started at 1000 and we finished at about 1500.

My wife and I were in Uji for only a couple of days and wanted a way to get some exercise and see more of the city and its amazing sights. This bike tour was the perfect fit! Our tour group was small and intimate which made the stops fun. Our guide was excellent. He knew so much about the area and answered all of our questions to help us understand this beautiful city better. Highly recommend this tour for your next trip to Uji. Don’t miss it!

The tour with Takashi was fun and interesting. He’s an excellent tour guide and is fun to be with. The Uji Matcha Museum gave insight as to Uji’s significance in all things tea. Takashi took me to several temples and provided understanding of how Shinto and Buddhist beliefs infuse the lives of Japanese people. I was the only one on the tour which was lucky for me since I felt a bit wobbly on the bike so we could switch to walking. After we were done I wanted to try a matcha drink. Takashi took me to a lovely tea shop off the main street that I never would have found on my own.

If you are looking for something unique to do tour wise on your Japan Trip, then this is highly recommended. What a wonderful time it was to bike around Uji with our guide Takashi, who would inform us of all the areas we stopped at. UNESCO world heritage sights, museums, and even give insight on places to get great souvenirs and treats! It's definitely a welcomed break from walking around as well, while still being able to get a full day in!
