What To Expect

Burford

The day begins by departing London and travelling towards the quintessentially English countryside of The Cotswolds; an area that is famous for its beautiful landscape, charming villages and honey-coloured stone cottages. Our first stop will be the traditional town of Burford; known as the ‘Gateway to the Cotswolds’. This is a historic place where many houses date back nearly 600 years and little has changed for centuries. During the visit there will be time to explore Burford, visit the magnificent church and stroll along the high street to visit a mix of independent family-run shops.

Bibury

The village of Bibury is often described as the 'prettiest village in England'. It's charming scene is a snapshot of traditional English country life. Wander along the gentle river and see the iconic Arlington Row; a set of weavers cottages that are now one of the symbols of the Cotswolds.

We had an absolutely wonderful time on the Cotswolds day tour from London with GOtours – Explore Britain. Our driver and guide, Tony, was fantastic: knowledgeable, friendly, and full of great stories that really brought the places we visited to life. The itinerary was well organized, the scenery was stunning, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We truly enjoyed every moment of the trip, and it will remain a lifelong memory for us. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience outside London!

Our guide Rob was wonderful. He was warm and knowledgeable and a great driver. He checked on us and welcomed questions and conversation. He knew the roadways and navigated exceptionally. His drop-offs and pick-ups were easy and on time. This was a good quick overview of the countryside and 4 towns- but you’ll spend as much time driving as in seeing the towns. I wonder if it wouldn’t be better to see just 3 towns and have more time to eat and explore. But, as said, it’s a convenient no worries way to get a view of the countryside and the charming Cotswolds villages. Driving it yourself would be nothing less than a confusing nightmare.

Our guide, Claire, was a delight… filled with information which she shared throughout the tour. She is obviously very proud of her country and that was an added bonus that really came out in her enthusiasm. The Cotswolds were very interesting and each town had its own character. The highlight for us was having a pint at the oldest pub in Britain… The Porch House. Don’t miss stopping in there on your tour!!

This was the perfect day trip to the Cotswolds with the most gracious and fantastic host, Ash. With four primary stops, the trip provided a sampling of these picturesque villages - enough to know if you would like to go back for a longer stay and to where. Ash was eager to share his vast knowledge and great tips, extremely helpful and accommodating, funny, and very importantly, a safe driver. It really felt like he cared and wanted our small group to get the most out of our time together - which we did! Thank you, Ash!

This is a very winding narrow drive (at times) but it was SO worth the views. Highly recommend doing a full day Cotswolds tour. There is so much to see and experience. It is such a unique and peaceful place! Ash was our guide. He’s the best. Very considerate and personable. Made the trip that much better.

We had never been to the Cotswolds and Ash, our driver and guide did a fantastic job driving us in the rain and detailing all of the different places we stopped. I liked being able to run free in the different towns, of course the time goes by quickly… could have used more but we will be back another time to see more and stay longer. Also plenty of food options, bathroom breaks, beautiful old buildings , shopping and nature.The bus was comfy and we got the lowdown before we got to each stop, so that we could maximize our time once we got there.

Ash, driver and guide, was awesome. Shared lots of history and current details about towns visited. Very open to questions about UK life, great photographer, great coffee suggestions! Just enough time in each stop and no worries of a busy drive and parking challenges. Highly recommend as a day trip to get out of the city and see some beautiful country!
