It was an amazing tour! David was a fantastic guide. He shared lots of great stories about life in Iceland, how things work with the sheep farmers, and about the landscape — like why the moss has different colors in certain places, what you can see around you, and so on. We drank from a river along the way, where he filled our bottles, and he drove fast through the rivers, which created a fun effect. All in all, an excellent guide combined with stunning scenery.

This tour is absolutely our highlight during our Iceland trip! We booked the trip in advance and wanted to change the date two days before as we saw that there was whole day train indicated by weather broadcast. After a quick call and a short email it was no problem to arrange our trip to one day earlier. Our guide Gudmann was super friendly and shared with us so many insights and interesting stories during our trip. The drive with super-jeep in the deep heart of mossy lava field was just a unique experience that you never can forget! Change of the date turned out to be a right decision, the view was spectacularly top of Laki, We had a little rain later on in the afternoon, but for us all it matters was the first part of hiking on top of Laki. The tour was a bit pricy, but it is definitely worth the money! We are a group of only 6 people and could really enjoy the exclusive programme to the full.

I'd been to the other-wordly highlands a few times, hoping I'd get something special again. The laki craters didn't disappoint. Different than other parts of the highlands. We didn't have the best weather, but that didn't spoil it at all. 2 different stops at the craters and a fantastic waterfall, plus stories by our tour guide: loved it all. The final stop was at the increasingly crowded Fjadrargljufur canyon (thanks Justin Bieber). A let down after being nearly alone in the highlands, but I'd been to the canyon 3 times before so I'm sure it was impressive for the others. Mildly rough road but nothing too bad. Great tour guide. Bring your own lunch.

It was simply the perfect day. Our tour guide / driver was really nice, explained a lot and answered all our questions. The spots we visited were breathtaking and we were really lucky to be there almost on our own. Also the hiking / driving relation was perfect!

Our 8-hour tour today was worth every Icelandic krona, despite the bad weather. Our tour guide David told us lots of interesting things about this area, where he also lives. He was also very friendly and funny and had some fun stories to tell. One of the best guided tours we have ever experienced. Super Jeep (specially modified in Iceland) Laki-Krater Tour in Vatnajokull National Park from Kirkjubæjarklaustur with Secret Island Tours to the craters of Lakagigar and Tjarnargigur, the waterfall Fagrifoss, and the Fjarárgljúfur canyon.

The tour was really cool and the guides tell a lot about the country and know a lot of funny stories that happened there. The view is great in good weather. We unfortunately had rain, but it was still worth it !

I highly recommend this tour; I had such an amazing time. Our guide, Davíð, was very knowledgeable and knew a lot about the history of the area. He also shared some funny stories with us. The landscape and views are out of this world, and since we were driving a super jeep, it was accessible despite the many river crossings that a normal car couldn't handle. Once you reach certain points, you can do some small hikes that are truly stunning. I definitely recommend going for it and enjoying every minute.

What a history Lakagigar volcano has. The guide could tell a lot about the area and drove the super jeep smoothly on the F road and through the rivers. This was also the reason why we had chosen for this, as the road there was very bad and quite deep rivers had to be crossed. One river could even be 1 metre high. The places we stopped at were amazing! I can therefore recommend this day tour to everyone!

You are driven by jeep to unique starting points, from where you can make great hikes (you can, don't have to) and later you are picked up again and driven to the next highlight. We found the combined driving/running throughout the day great and came to places where you can not otherwise get with the normal rental car. We can recommend the tour without reservation!!
