We had a great DMZ tour with Joo-Ee! Our small group of 14 people made the experience comfortable and enjoyable. We especially enjoyed learning about the history of the Third Tunnel and visiting the Peace Park. Joo-Ee provided explanations and shared historical insights throughout the day. She even brought binoculars for the viewing area. We then headed to the suspension bridge which was amazing and beautiful. Joo-ee took photos for everyone, making the experience even more memorable. Such a great day! I highly recommend this tour. Thank you Joo-Ee for a wonderful experience.

I don't usually take the time to write a review. However, Joo-Ee provided an excellent tour experience. Booked tour through Viator app. Immediately after received confirmation and additional information on what to expect. Communication came through WhatsApp direct from tour guide. The communication alone made me feel at ease when coordinating an experience for our family group of 8. Pick up was early and smooth. The early part was strategic- got us first in line (first come first serve). Group was not private, but smaller than usual, which made it feel more intimate vs. one person trying to herd a bunch of cats. Joo-Ee was knowledgeable and very organized. Learned more on this tour vs. a previous tour I experienced a few years back with just my spouse. Appreciated the history lesson sprinkled with a little humor, as my daughters were with this time around. Only downside was that we didn't get enough time to ride the gondola, but the overall experience made up for it. Would highly recommend this tour, specifically with this guide.

Great balance of guided tour and information to free time. Thoughtful touches throughout from being picked up at our hotel in a luxury vehicle with recliners to binoculars at Dora observatory, and suggesting which snacks were worth buying.

  • Very nice tour.

It can feel a bit rushed at times, but that’s because we chose the 5.30 -hour option. I would recommend taking a longer tour if you’d like to spend more time at the sites. With the 5.30-hour guide tour, my daughter and I got the time to do other activities after 3 pm. The guide was nice, knowledgable and his English was quite good.

  • Great DMZ tour

Great communication for pickup, Joo-Ee was a superb guide and unlike other tours we were issued an individual comms system for Joo-Ee to guide and explain the various sights. The 3rd tunnel included a 10 min walk down and then up a sloped tunnel to access the main tunnel. Hard work getting back up, so this part of the tour is not for the unfit.

  • ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Journey to the Edge of History: The Ultimate DMZ Experience!

If you are visiting South Korea, this DMZ tour is an absolute **must-do**. It perfectly balances deeply moving history, military tension, stunning natural views, and even a bit of modern fun. Our day was packed with incredible sights, and everything ran seamlessly. Here is a breakdown of why this tour deserves a glowing 5-star rating! # 1. Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park & The Historic Bridges Our day started at Imjingak Park. Since there is no online reservation system, this is where you stop to secure your official DMZ tickets. Fortunately, there is an early-opening snack bar and restaurant here so you can grab breakfast! Mangbaedan Altar: A deeply moving memorial where North Korean refugees honor the families they left behind. Bridge of Freedom & Derailed Locomotive: Standing where prisoners of war once crossed to freedom, seeing the bullet-ridden train, and viewing the colorful ribbons filled with wishes for reunification was incredibly powerful. # 2. Crossing the Civilian Control Line & Entering the DMZ The tension gets real as the tour bus approaches the Civilian Control Zone (CCZ) checkpoints. Soldiers board the bus to check passports, which really underscores the security of the area. Once cleared, you cross the "blue line" and officially enter the DMZ! # 3. The Big Highlights of the DMZ Tour We stopped at four incredible locations inside the zone: The 3rd Infiltration Tunnel: Absolutely mind-blowing. Walking deep underground into a secret tunnel dug by North Korea—located just 52km from Seoul—was a thrilling and humbling experience. Dora Observatory: The absolute highlight! On a clear day, you can see right into North Korea with your naked eyes. Using the binoculars to spot North Korean villages, propaganda flags, and fields was surreal. Unification Village (Tongilchon): A peaceful village inside the restricted zone. We loved browsing the local products grown right here in the DMZ. # 4. Mt. Gamaksan Suspension Bridge Next, we headed to Chulleong Bridge. What used to be a fierce, tragic battlefield during the Korean War has been transformed into a breathtaking natural wonder. Walking across the massive suspension bridge offered spectacular, panoramic mountain views. It’s the perfect place for photos! # 5. North Korea Museum: To wrap up an intense day of history, we visited the North Korea Museum. The first floor features a super fun, trendy Korean-style photo booth where you can pose with hilarious green-screen backgrounds alongside cutouts of Kim, Trump, or JSA soldiers. It was a great way to share some laughs with family and friends after a long day. Finally, the tour dropped us off right in the heart of Myeongdong, making it incredibly convenient to dive straight into street food shopping and dinner! 💡 **Final Verdict:** This tour is the perfect mix of education, emotion, adventure, and fun. It is exceptionally organized, deeply eye-opening, and worth every single penny. **10/10 highly recommend, especially with our tour guide Joo EE!**

Joo was an incredible tour guide!!! It’s a long tour but she leaves ample time for resting and snacks between destinations. There is an air conditioned bus to bring you around. Some parts are a little more strenuous (hiking, climbing, etc…) but you have the option to skip.
