Explore the Atlantic in search of marine wildlife with Marine Biologists on board, and learn more about dolphins in their natural habitat. Discover different species of cetaceans, birds and other marine life in an exciting experience in the Algarve ! Departing from Faro, you will be able to enjoy the landscape of Ria Formosa Natural park while we cruise towards the Atlantic ocean. When outside, the guides will look out for different wildlife, specially for cetaceans! There are great chances to see dolphins like the Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) or the Common dolphin (Delphinus delphis) and if your are lucky we can even spot Orcas or whales. During this trip you will also be able to spot different species of marine birds like the Northern Gannet (Morus bassanus), Shearwaters and Storm Petrels! It is also common to see some other animals such as the Ocean Sunfish (Mola mola), Atlantic Bluefin Tuna (Thunnus thynnus) and some species of sharks or marine turtles. After spotting a group of cetaceans, our team of Marine biologists will provide information about the animals and also collect data for research before we head back to Faro.

We did not find many animals, however enjoyed the trip to the ocean and the knowledge of Miguel and his colleagues.

Great trip with helpful and very knowledgeable guides. A RIB took us way out to sea with only 5 on board + the 2 guides, so room to move around when we found some wildlife. The boat will hold probably about 12 on a busier day. We were out on the water for at least 2.5 hours and saw logger head turtles, a playful and curious pod of bottle nose dolphins and a slightly shyer pod of Atlantic spotted dolphins (I think) which seemed to excitement our guides as this was their first sighting this year of that particular species and apparently quite rare. A highly recommended trip if you don't mind a bumpy ride in the open ocean.

Tour guides hosted us well. Friendly, knowledgeable and respectful of the environment. We saw common dolphins, blue sharks, a grey seal and may species of sea birds. Topped by a beautiful sunset. Would recommend due to the quality of the guides and their knowledge.

A return trip to see the dolphins and it didn’t disappoint … saw a huge pod of common dolphins on a feeding frenzy, amazing ! The marine and bird life was very well explained by our crew.

We booked the tour the night before without any issues. Since the preliminary tour took longer, we started late, but that was not a problem. The two guides were very nice and explained a lot, taking plenty of time to find the dolphins, which unfortunately did not work out. Very unfortunate, but that is how it is in nature.

Amazing experience seeing Bottlenose Dolphins in the wild as they swam and played alongside the boat! The guides were very kind and knowledgable, taking good care of both the Dolphins and us on the boat. This was the highlight of our holiday and 100% a must-do with Ocean Vibes Algarve.

Fabulous trip, pleased I got to see some bottlenose dolphins including a baby one! The marine biologists were knowledgeable and respectful of the dolphins, as well as ensuring we were clear on what to expect, and the measures that are in place to protect the pods from tourists. Boat can be bumpy and the wind was chilly so a coat was needed.
