What To Expect

1

Cross of the Martyrs

A 25-foot-tall reinforced concrete cross sits on top of Paseo de la Loma Hill in Fort Marcy Park and commemorates the 21 Franciscan priests and many more Spanish colonists who died during the Pueblo revolt of 1680. Easily accessible via a gently sloping staircase that starts on the eastern corner of Paseo de Peralta, the summit provides both a close-up of the adobe walls and giant cottonwood trees of downtown Santa Fe and giant vistas of the Jemez Mountains in the west beyond.

Randall Davey Audubon Center

Explore above Upper Canyon Road on this short gravel entrance to the Audubon Center. The property was part of the Talaya Hill grant given in 1731 lo Manuel Trujillo. Far from the Plaza in Spanish days, it was used only for grazing and woodcutting until the first sawmill in Santa Fe was built there by the U.S. army quartermaster in 1847 to provide lumber for Fort Marcy, then under construction. The main house still shows the stone walls and huge, hand-hewn timbers of the mill on the interior, carefully preserved by the late owner, Randall Davey, an artist of international reputation.

Linda was a great tour guide. The e-bike was top notch and made the tour a breeze, literally 😆. This tour was a great way to see Santa Fe and to reach further beyond the typical walkable areas close to the plaza. Highly recommend!

We were so pleased with this bike tour. Our guide, Teo, is kind and professional aside from being a great guy. The tour was filled with deep history and beautiful sights. The colors this November were fabulous and the ride was very manageable with the electric bikes and frequent stops. Glad we did this!

This was my first time on an e-bike, and it was a great experience. Courtney was an excellent guide, providing clear guidance on the use of the e-bike and the route we took during the tour. We learned a lot and were able to see many areas of Santa Fe.

This e bike tour was fabulous! Excellent pre trip explanation and practice on the e bike so perfect for beginners. Our guide Linda was excellent…history, interesting facts and just fun! We had a blast and highly recommend it! We saw a lot of Santa Fe and then got to the outskirts along the old trail which was a great ending.

Hello, Arrived back to the East Coast on Monday. On the last day of are stay in Santa Fe a group of four of us went on the E Bike tour with a guide named Teo. He was extraordinarily well versed not only about the in’s and out’s of Santa Fe but Teo’s wealth of information about the history and culture of New Mexico and beyond was unmatched by any other tour I have experienced. I would like to thank Teo for a first class experience. Thanks again Teo See you next time !!! Scott

My wife and I had a fabulous trip with Teo. He really was passionate about explaining the history and topography of Santa Fe and the surrounding countryside. He also did a great job of explaining how to ride our e-bikes safely and minimized our exposure to car traffic. We would highly recommend this experience.

Ted was so helpful and kind. I had never ridden an e-bike, and he ensured I was comfortable before we started the tour. We visited the city and experienced the key spots and some peripheral areas. I would recommend you prepare for the weather. The wind was cool, and I got cold on the morning tour even with gloves and a jacket. There is a small bag on the back of the bike that you could put a sweater or a light jacket in, just in case.

We had a lovely morning with our guide Linda around Santa Fe. Santa Fe is our home, but we learned some history, discovered some new parts of town, and it was a perfect cool morning and Santa Fe was gorgeous with fall colors. We enjoyed seeing some interesting parts of town that were new to us. We partly were on the tour just to try e-bikes, we had never been on one before and wanted to check out what they are like. Linda was excellent teacher, and we found them to be really fun and easy to use.

Perfect way to spend our first full day in Santa Fe with Heritage Bike Tours. Bikes were in great condition, and Linda Kogan our guide was not only knowledgeable, but also kept our group together and safe during our 3 hour tour. Definitely a 5 star experience!
