Cross of the Martyrs
A 25-foot-tall reinforced concrete cross sits on top of Paseo de la Loma Hill in Fort Marcy Park and commemorates the 21 Franciscan priests and many more Spanish colonists who died during the Pueblo revolt of 1680. Easily accessible via a gently sloping staircase that starts on the eastern corner of Paseo de Peralta, the summit provides both a close-up of the adobe walls and giant cottonwood trees of downtown Santa Fe and giant vistas of the Jemez Mountains in the west beyond.
Randall Davey Audubon Center
Explore above Upper Canyon Road on this short gravel entrance to the Audubon Center. The property was part of the Talaya Hill grant given in 1731 lo Manuel Trujillo. Far from the Plaza in Spanish days, it was used only for grazing and woodcutting until the first sawmill in Santa Fe was built there by the U.S. army quartermaster in 1847 to provide lumber for Fort Marcy, then under construction. The main house still shows the stone walls and huge, hand-hewn timbers of the mill on the interior, carefully preserved by the late owner, Randall Davey, an artist of international reputation.

Teo offered many insights into Santa Fe history as we toured all around the central square, along the Santa Fe trail, up to hillsides for fantastic views of the surrounding area and then back down to Railroad Arts district and along many excellent bike trails. The group was well paced and kept safe while having fun cruising throughout the city. An excellent way to see the many different areas of Santa Fe! The staff at Heritage Inspirations was so very helpful and offered us insights into tours in other areas of NM. And the valet parking at the Inn was very convenient. Will definitely recommend this to others we know.

Our tour guide was Bonnie Povolyn. Mike and I sincerely enjoyed the tour — but what truly made it exceptional was Bonnie. Her knowledge, engagement, and enthusiasm brought Santa Fe to life in such a fun and meaningful way. We learned so much, and her storytelling and insights made the experience both educational and enjoyable. We especially appreciated how she took us to unique locations and hidden corners of the city that we never would have discovered on our own. She made the tour feel personal and special, not just a standard visit. Thank you as well for all of the wonderful recommendations on places to visit, shop, and eat — they added so much to the rest of our time in Santa Fe. We will absolutely look forward to enjoying future tours with Heritage Inspirations, and we truly hope to have the opportunity to tour with Bonnie again. Warm regards, Billie and Mike

Linda was a great tour guide. The e-bike was top notch and made the tour a breeze, literally 😆. This tour was a great way to see Santa Fe and to reach further beyond the typical walkable areas close to the plaza. Highly recommend!

We were so pleased with this bike tour. Our guide, Teo, is kind and professional aside from being a great guy. The tour was filled with deep history and beautiful sights. The colors this November were fabulous and the ride was very manageable with the electric bikes and frequent stops. Glad we did this!

This e bike tour was fabulous! Excellent pre trip explanation and practice on the e bike so perfect for beginners. Our guide Linda was excellent…history, interesting facts and just fun! We had a blast and highly recommend it! We saw a lot of Santa Fe and then got to the outskirts along the old trail which was a great ending.

Hello, Arrived back to the East Coast on Monday. On the last day of are stay in Santa Fe a group of four of us went on the E Bike tour with a guide named Teo. He was extraordinarily well versed not only about the in’s and out’s of Santa Fe but Teo’s wealth of information about the history and culture of New Mexico and beyond was unmatched by any other tour I have experienced. I would like to thank Teo for a first class experience. Thanks again Teo See you next time !!! Scott
