Amazing night !! Really thrilled and highly recommend this small group food tour. Our Tour Foodie (Chi) was so amazing and she customised our trip once she found out we were all keen to try some different and new foods (eg Sandworm pancake) and after was lovely enough to walk us to Train Street and grab us front row seat when the train past...Also our 'food tour' mates were wonderful and entertaining... Always a bonus.

Our Hanoi tour was such a highlight of the trip! Everything was so well organised, and our guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing so many local insights along the way. The street food was absolutely on point — every stop was delicious and felt authentic. It was the perfect way to experience the real Hanoi. Highly recommend booking this!

This tour was as promised. Mai was our guide for this 6-person tour. She was fun and engaging and happy to answer all questions about food or culture. The stops were excellent. We started with a beef noodle soup (not pho) that was made with pineapples in the broth and meatballs as well as slices of beef. We were in a local spot (in fact my husband and I sat with a local due to the space limitations) and this was the only dish served. Next was duck Binh Mi, which was excellent. This Banh Mi place had a variety of kinds, including vegetarian. Next up were summer rolls, a variation on the spring roll. This was my favorite due to the thinly sliced beefed that was grilled with guise leaf and the super delicious peanut sauce. They also had only two other dishes on the menu. Final for savory dishes was a noodle with fried carp, skin and shallots, which we ate in an alley. Well prepared but not that interesting. We moved on to savory and stopped for the classic egg coffee, although I think the entire group opted for either cocoa or another beverage. My cocoa hit the spot and I was glad to know there was another option for the classic egg beverage. Finally we went to a sweets shop for sticky rice with coconut ice cream and mango. This was average, but the group elected to order some additional items - the black rice and ice cream recommended by the 90 year old owner, a corn mash, and the coconut milk concoction that included durian. The black rice dish was the best of them all but I loved the opportunity to have my first try of durian (it’s definitely an acquired taste)! The benefit of this tour, when you can try many of these foods on your own and the cost of the food is minimal, is going to these specific locations. We only saw tourists at the two dessert stops. The others we would have been reluctant to try on our own, not knowing the cleanliness or quality of the dishes. This was an authentic way of eating - Mai joined us for a few dishes. She also explained how to eat each dish, something that isn’t always clear. The second reason is that Mai was an informative, fun guide. She kept things lively and gave good explanations about the food, Hanoi and Vietnamese culture in general.

Lucky was our guide and he was amazing! We were an inquisitive bunch and he answered all our food and non-food questions thoughtfully, pragmatically and with whip-smart humor. We loved everything we ate and even sought out stringy beef soup the next night! Thank goodness he reminded us to take pictures.

We got a great local’s perspective on the food scene unique to the north. Bob is someone with deep roots in street food places and he was able to customize selection based on our unique tastes for a full experience. Almost cancelled due to rain but so glad we didn’t. Highly recommended.

I joined a Hanoi food tour to experience authentic Vietnamese cuisine and local food culture, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. The tour started in the Old Quarter, where the streets were lively and full of energy. Our guide explained the history of each area while taking us to small local eateries that I would never have found on my own. We tried several traditional dishes such as pho, bun cha, and banh cuon. Every dish was freshly made, and the flavors were rich yet well balanced. One of the most impressive experiences was eating bun cha, which is grilled pork served with noodles and herbs. The smoky aroma and the combination of sweet and savory sauce were unforgettable. We also learned how to eat each dish properly, including which herbs to add and how locals enjoy their meals. In addition to the food, the guide shared interesting stories about Vietnamese culture and daily life in Hanoi. I felt that the tour was not just about eating, but also about understanding the local lifestyle through food. Overall, the Hanoi food tour was a fantastic experience. I was able to enjoy delicious food, learn about Vietnamese culture, and explore the city from a local perspective. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hanoi.
