This was an AWESOME day!!! Hobiton was so much better than I expected and the caves were amazing. Our tour guide was super knowledgable and provided great information. Also, she stopped to break up the trip and perfect times and allowed us time to get food and use the restroom without major delays. She seemed to get everyone back on the bus efficiently:-)

It was a great day. A must for all visitors! It will be a full but enjoyable day to be combined with a visit of Auckland.

Hobbiton was one of my bucket list trips--and it lived up to all the expectations of my LOTR-fan heart! I felt like I was in the Shire! It was great to see where different scenes were filmed, and I loved the time inside a Hobbit hole! While Hobbiton was my primary focus, the entire trip was amazing. Our driver Murray was so informative during our drives there and back. He really made sure we were taken care of and made comfortable.. I was impressed with how efficient the day was as Murray took us to Hobbiton and handed us off to a tour guide. The tour was well organized and so fun. (be ready to walk up and down the hills pf the Shire). Then Murray reappeared just as we were heading to our delicious drinks and lunch (the lunch was enormous and delicious). Then off we went to the caves, where we were smoothly given to our Maori guide Ashton, who did a great job teaching us about the glow worms. Seeing them was a magical experience. It was a full day, and one of our favorites!

Great tour that included both Hobbiton and the Waitomo glow worms. Milton was an outstanding tour guide and driver for the 11 of us in a late model and like new 14 passenger bus. The beer or cider (or non-alcohol option) was fun at the Green Dragon Inn before a spectacular buffet lunch. This was the longest running such tour and the drink and lunch were all inclusive. It was just over 12 hours with pickup and delivery at our hotel in Auckland. The movie set and cave experiences are not good for someone with mobility impairment (a good deal of walking and stairs). I would highly recommend this tour and tour group!

What a great trip with Milton, a fabulous storyteller with so much heart. I loved Hobbiton despite having not read the books or seen the movies. The buffet lunch was excellent. The Waitomo glow worm cave tour was also very good. Our guide sang a beautiful Maori song for us in the deepest section of the cave.
