Experience two North Island icons on a day tour from Auckland.
Travel south from Auckland to Hobbiton. On arrival at Shire’s Rest you embark on your Hobbiton Movie Set tour. You see 44 hobbit holes, the Mill and double arch bridge and the Party Tree. At this stunning location you can take a photo at the gate to Bilbo’s house, “Bag End”. Finish with a visit to the Green Dragon Inn for a drink.
Following your drink, you will be treated to a sumptuous buffet lunch in the marquee & some time to shop before continuing on to Waitomo.
On arrival in Waitomo, join a 45 minute guided tour of the incredible Waitomo Glow Worm caves. Enjoy the delicate cave formations and be wowed in the Cathedral, before taking the iconic boat rode through the glow worm grotto (subject to water levels). Marvel in silence at thousands of magical glow worms.
Return to Auckland in the early evening.

Enjoy a group tour of Hobbiton Movie Set before a drink in the Green Dragon. You will then enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the Party Marquee and time for shopping. (Tour around the set at Hobbiton is 2 hours before time in the Green Dragon & lunch).

4.00Had a great day out. The mini bus was comfortable. Hobbiton was great, absolutely beautiful and well worth the trip. The Waitamo caves were also stunning. Highly recommended day out. The only thing that dampened it was our tour guide - who was lovely - did make some comments that made me feel uncomfortable and also put a bit of a cloud on the mood/vibe.
Amazing, fully recommend.

5.00I’ve been on three tours with this company now but this was the most recent. I booked with them again instantly with no hesitation after the first day trip. The drivers are all super friendly and welcoming. They’re full of information and jokes. Can tell it’s a family run business and the trips truly feel like days out with old friends. I cannot recommend them enough.

5.00I highly recommend this tour! It gives you a great opportunity to see wonderful and unique sights in New Zealand without having to drive yourself around--plus you have commentary from local drivers about the country. There is quite a bit of driving, so don't feel bad about napping every now and then. This tour is worth it for the convenience; tickets and lunch are all taken care of. You just get chauffeured from place to place. Thank you Chris for being a great tour guide!

5.00Our tour guide was so nice and knowledgeable, and aside from getting us to and from the experiences, gave a lot of commentary as we travelled. The Hobbiton tour had so much detail and the nature was astounding. Getting to go into the hobbit-hole and have a meal by the Green Dragon was a special treat! The Waitomo caves were small and a bit short, but the worms were still a nice sight.
Glow worms are a must see!

5.00Absolutely loved the glow worm tour and Hobbiton was great as well. Enjoyed the buffet lunch - the food was flavorful and delicious. Kelly from Bush and Beach was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, knew lots of facts about Auckland, and excellent driver, and friendly guy. I highly recommend booking the tour through Bush and Beach. It was worth the fee for the full day tour.
Damian was one of the best guides we have ever had!!

5.00We have done many tours throughout the world and Damian was one of the best guides we have ever had anywhere. He was more like a professor than a guide really because his depth of knowledge was so profound. Somehow, he was such an amazing storyteller also that even our teen twin daughter were mesmerized by all the historical and cultural information he gave throughout the trip. In addition , he was just the sweetest person you could imagine. The trip was worth it for him alone, but of course Hobbiton and Waitomo were both also thoroughly enjoyable for our entire family. Thank you Damian!!!!

5.00The visit to the shire was so amazing. Our tour guide Georgia was so delightful. The lunch was a real feast this foodie really loved the options. The visit to the glo worm cave was very special, George was so informative and embedded in culture it was a moving time in the cave…thank you Wayne the driver was great, an awesome story teller. I highly recommend you take this tour company and make sure you ask for Wayne as the driver!

5.00What an experience! Excellent tour for Lord of the Rings and Hobbit fans. Hobbiton is amazing, we felt like we were in the movie when visiting the place. The Waitomo glow worm cave was magnificent and out of this world. We would like to thank our tour guide Wayne from Bush and Beach who kept us entertained throughout the journey by providing interesting facts about New Zealand and telling funny jokes. I highly recommend this incredible tour.
