Starting Jan 1st, 2026, the tour supplier is required by law to confirm US or Non-US citizenship which will determine if an additional entry fee is required. For non-US citizens, the tour supplier must collect an additional $100 per person, payable in advance to the tour supplier.
Arizona state law requires children under 8 years to have either a child seat or booster. Child seats are not provided, please bring your own and notify supplier
Minimum age is 3 years and guest must inform supplier they will provide car seats or boosters.
Wheelchairs and walkers are acceptable as long as they fold up and can be slid into the vehicle. You must let the supplier know if you are bringing either.
We do not guarantee pickup for all hotels. Even if your hotel is on the list, there may be a chance you'll need to meet at an alternate location. Any guest staying outside of Phoenix, Scottsdale or Tempe will be required to meet at an alternate location to be determined by supplier. Tour supplier contact details will be provided on your pre-paid voucher.
The Grand Canyon South Rim is a 7,000 foot elevation, please note this if you have concerns about altitude.
There is NOT a restroom on the van. Comfort stops are made throughout the day.
You must let the supplier know if there are any mobility concerns that they should be aware of.
Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
FOR LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS: Any tours booked after 7:00PM Arizona time the night before the tour date might not be confirmed. You will likely have to meet at another hotel for pick up. Our office will contact you prior to 6:00am on the tour date.

What To Expect
Phoenix
After departing the Phoenix metro area, our tour travels through the expansive Sonoran Desert filled with the native saguaro cactus. The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.
Sedona
Enjoy a brief visit to the stunning red rocks of Sedona! After a photo stop at Bell Rock, you'll have approximately 30 minutes in Uptown to enjoy the shops and galleries while surrounded by the beautiful views. You'll also experience the scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon!

5.00My girlfriend and I did the Grand Canyon and Sedona tour from Phoenix on 12/15. Our tour guide Jay was awesome. Immediately he got everyone in the small van talking and was dropping interesting information about Phoenix all day. Any question or any problem that anyone in the group had Jay made it a priority to make sure that question or problem was answered as soon as he could. However, we did have one couple in our group that was an absolute problem, arguing with each other all day and making rude comments throughout the trip. Jay handled this with absolute professionalism. He ignored every rude comment they made about his driving even though he was a great driver and I felt safe all day. If I ever go on a trip via detours again I will request Jay because he made this trip that much more special.

5.00An amazing tour of the Grand Canyon and Sedona area. Our guide, Mark H, was outstanding—kind, incredibly knowledgeable, and always checking in to make sure everyone in the group was comfortable and having a great time. I don’t usually enjoy long car journeys, but there was so much to see and do, and Mark kept us well informed about upcoming stops and what to expect, which made the time fly by. I also tend to get motion sickness, but I felt completely fine in the spacious, comfortable van. Although it was a long day (12–13 hours), it was absolutely worth it and made my business trip to Arizona unforgettable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, especially solo female travelers—I felt extremely safe throughout. Mark was genuinely interested in making sure everyone had a great time in Phoenix as well, even offering personalized food recommendations near where each of us was staying. I followed Mark's recommendation for in and out burger, it was delicious ! Thanks again Mark H!

5.00My wife Joyce was celebrating her birthday for this trip; we went on the day tour to Sedona from Scottsdale and it was fantastic. The bus was so great, clean, on time, comfortable, and provided water. Mark H. was our guide and he was exceptional. Informative, considered everyone, good amount of info, good timing at each site, and right amount of stops. He’s so friendly, good vibe, and even played good music to get us into the Sedona vibe. Sedona is spectacular and the energy can be felt. Thank you for the great day. I highly recommend. We had a fantastic experience with Detours American West! From the start, communication was clear and easy—every detail was handled smoothly. Even though we needed to go to a nearby hotel for an early pickup, the process was seamless. Our driver, MARK H., was outstanding. He was on time, truly knowledgeable, and kept the ride engaging with his explanations along the way. The van was spotless, had large windows for great views, and the air conditioning kept us comfortable throughout the day. Sedona was by far the highlight—the breathtaking red rock scenery, the charming shopping district, and great food made it unforgettable. It was a full day, but well-paced with plenty of stops and time to explore. The price point felt just right for the value we received. Overall, we couldn’t be more pleased and highly recommend this tour. We’re already looking forward to booking another Detours trip on our next Grand Canyon visit!
