Here’s the very best of Victoria’s wildlife experiences. The Penguin Parade is an absolute ‘must’ on every visitor’s itinerary, but this tour gives you so much more.
First stop is Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you can get up close to wallabies on the wallaby walk (you may see little joeys peeking out of their mothers’ pouches). Enjoy a ranger providing unique insights and information during the daily koala presentation.
Then we travel on to the spectacular Cape Woolamai Surf Beach. Located on the southern coast of Phillip Island, this beach is exposed to the ocean swells and the surf here is truly impressive. It's also not uncommon to see dolphins or seals swimming in the waters just off the beach.
We also visit the Nobbies and Australia’s largest Fur Seal colony at Seal Rocks. Finally, the ultimate attraction: hundreds of Little Penguins emerging from the ocean and waddling across the beach to their sand dune burrows.

It was fun. We enjoyed the wildlife encounters. We saw many penguins under the walk path and penguins after they came out of water.

Overall, a great tour - long, but great! One thing to note for those viewing the penguins - do not wait long for penguins exiting the ocean. Most of the penguins we saw were walking next to the walkways.

The tour includes visit to the animals sanctuary - one of the most exciting events (besides seeing penguins). Make sure you are ready for weather changes - you can leave stuff in a bus, so no worries.

Really enjoyed this tour and would recommend. It’s a long day. We got picked up at 11:45am in Spencer Street. We were staying in Docklands, so easy for us to get the free tram no 11 or 48. Bunyip were great in communication and advising the best pick up for our location. There were 22 in a small bus (full group) perfect size. Plus our delightful driver Sophia, who was knowledgeable and really helpful in suggesting how to get the best out of each stop. We visited St Kilda Beach boxes, Moonlit Sanctuary, where you can pay extra Aus $30 for an opportunity to stand behind and stroke a Koala taking your own photos, if you haven’t experienced before. There was plenty of time to walk round, intermingle with kangaroos who roam freely. Most sleeping/resting under trees, as was 33 degrees. You can buy animal food or outside the cafe, you can collect a left over food pot. Next stop was the Nobbies. Walk along the boardwalk. Slightly windy but hot day for us. Take some photos and get an icecream Aus $18/2 scoop cup. Sophia then drove us, so we could see the Penguin viewing platforms on the beach where we would go later around 7pm. Sophia stopped and pointed out Joeys/Wallabies along the way. Then on to Cowes, a small beach front town, plenty of eating places inc. fresh cooked fish n chips, a greek, italian restaurant nearby. Aldi store if needed. Then to the Penguin parade, again Sophia was great in explaining the best view points in the seating area near the edges. You do see from all view points the penguins coming on to the beach. We saw a seal too. You can’t take photos once you are down on the viewing platform, as this is a government rule to respect the penguins. After about 20 mins, you can start walking back on the boardwalk and see the penguins, in their abundance heading to find their nests. They are really cute. When you get back to the visitors centre you can screenshot a bar code to download some free professional photos. It does get a little chilly in the evening, so do take a light jumper. They sell light blankets in the visitors centre for Aus $25. We left around 9pm and got back to our drop off in Melbourne CBD around 11pm. Sophia was a great smooth driver. Definitely Sophia is an asset to the tour company.
