We always enjoy food tours when travelling and the Hungry Whales tour did not disappoint! Marco gave a great tour that combined history of Azores with the food of the area. His team were highly organized and professional. We highly recommend this for anyone considering an interesting half day in Ponta Delgado.

Ishaja was absolutely fantastic as our guide. The experience was truly cultural. From the Grand Farmer’s Market the culinary experience, everything addresses The Azores! I am a travel agent and will definitely recommend this to my clients.

We arrived from Boston early Thursday morning, had an hour nap and then joined our 5-person tour with our guide, Ishaja. She is very knowledgeable about the area and the food it is known for. The 4 hours flew by. She started us with a light breakfast and tea though a meat course, onto a fish course, and topped it off with dessert. In between, the local farmer's market, the "Prince" of cheese, and a running history of the area. This tour was recommended from some friends, and we found it to be an excellent way to become acquainted with the city early in our trip. I would totally recommend this tour and if lucky, Ishaja.

The guides were excellent (Ishaja and Marco). Lots of good information- maybe a bit too long at the market but after that it got better and better.

Great experience. Learned a lot about the island and the food. I would recommend it. Small walk but Ponta Delgada has a few high and low.

This walking tour is a must. Generous amounts of food and interesting information are shared. A great gastronomical overview of Ponta Delgada and São Miguel. Marco and Ishaja are fantastic. Especially recommended to do this your first day on the island.
