What To Expect
Jardin Allende
To start the tour our native local tour guide will provide a basic introduction to San Miguel, from its pre-Columbian period to the present day. We will talk about the native groups of the area, the Spanish foundation by a Franciscan monk, and its evolution throughout the viceregal period. We will also learn when and how San Miguel became an international tourist destination and why it is called "The Best City in the World."
Ignacio Allende House (Casa de Ignacio Allende)
This building is considered a masterpiece of Baroque art. It was built during the golden age of San Miguel by a wealthy Spanish family. It is the birthplace of Ignacio Allende and now houses the historical museum of the city. Here, we will talk about Captain Allende, his importance to the history of the town, and his role in the Independence Revolution of 1810. After this, we will walk down Aldama cobbleston street, one of the most beautiful and awarded streets in town. Along the way, we will visit some of the charming rooftop terraces to enjoy the views of the city

5.00Great tour. Out of the way places that tourists would miss. Jesus is a 4th generation San Miguel resident. Colors spectacular. Local stories interesting. History of the city and view at sunset not to be missed. Great workout as well.

5.00This tour is not for the weak of heart! Jesus provided a very active sunset tour around the hilly neighborhoods of San Miguel. We were able to rest when we needed to and, since our tour was small, we had time to ask many questions. Jesus is full of knowledge and a very personable guide.

5.00We had a wonderful tour with Jesus. We had already been thru the town on another walking tour and so Jesus brought us all the way up to see the most incredible sights of the city. We were on roof tops that overlooked the beautiful sunset. It was beautiful and Jesús spoke with us about many of the family histories from the houses we saw. Loved it!
