What To Expect
Demaniyat Islands are a unique natural reserve located in Wilayat Al-Seeb, in the Sultanate of Oman, about 18 kilometers off the coast of Barka. Its is composed of 9 islands spread over 250 acres of sea, rich in natural heritage, incredible coral reefs of varying kinds, unique and rare sea life, such as Turtles, and Whale sharks amongst others. Home to these amazing creatures, it is also a magnet for many other amazing miracles of mother nature to migrate to seasonally. With crystal clear waters, endless rare sites and wondrous creatures it is nothing short of a heaven for snorkelers, divers and campers alike. An unforgettable experience to remember for a lifetime.

5.00We had a great time. Fahad took us to some great spots that weren’t too busy with other boats. We saw many turtles at the first spot and lots of colourful fish. At the second spot he took us to a spot on the rock mountain that allowed us to see eagle rays and baby sharks. The kids collected shells and explored the beach too. Gathas provided cold drinks, sandwiches and fruit. Highly recommend!

5.00Amazing half day trip. Not only did we see many turtles but also saw a baby shark. Fahad also took us to a beautiful white-sand beach and gave us the option of exploring or snorkelling. Unlike some of the other captains, he walked with us explaining about the surroundings and generally gave us interesting information about the local wildlife. I absolutely recommend this tour, bring a casing for your phone or better still an underwater camera and be prepared for some amazing colourful underwater wildlife 🤗

5.00Amazing morning of snorkelling at three spots on the islands. Loads of turtles, reef sharks, incredible coral and fish. Very helpful captain and crew who took some cool video footage which they shared with us all.

5.00Bucket list worthy trip to snorkel and see turtles in their environment. Friendly guides, great communication before trip. Only point to improve on is more signage at the jetty to know exactly where to meet. Otherwise, a fantastic trip

5.00Really top experience! The boat is comfortable (okay, the ladder to climb up could be designed by a less sadistic engineer), but as soon as you enter the water you forget everything: the islands are a paradise and swimming among turtles is an incredible thrill. The commander? Super helpful, he practically pleased us in everything except convincing dolphins and sharks to show up for the ritual photo... but, you know, nature does not work “on demand”. Useful notes: on board there are masks, fins and snorkels. We only brought our masks (for comfort and hygiene reasons), but the rest was already there. Very welcome the supply of bottles of fresh water, a plus not just under the sun. Friendly tip: if you can, bring a GoPro or similar. Waterproof cell phone cases hold yes... but up to a point! And believe me, marine wildlife deserves more than a few blurry shots.
