With the choice of three daily departures from Cairns, this Green Island cruise is perfect for visitors with limited time, offering a half or full day experience (up to 7 hours). You will have the choice of a glass bottom boat coral viewing tour or snorkelling equipment.

What To Expect
Green Island National Park
Green Island is a beautiful 6000 year old coral cay. It's the only coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef with a rainforest! You will have a choice of snorkel equipment to snorkel from the white sandy beaches or to stay dry and see the island's reef from the glass bottom boat. Enjoy a walk through the lush rainforest.

2.00I chose to go on the flat bottom boat. It lasted only half an hour and the rest of the time I spent walking on the forest boardwalk. I think the tour is better value for those who snorkel.

5.00Very easy check in at Cairns terminal. Boat ride and crew was great, even getting a cuppa on board before departure. We had the glass bottom boat included in our ticket which I highly recommend and then we paid to hire a snorkel and goggles to see some of the reef ourself, another activity I highly recommend . Lots of food variety on the island for lunch and showers and toilets . We did the 6 hour, which we found was plenty for us, but would be easy to chill on the island all day . Loved it .

3.00The tour operator decided to add surcharge of $4AUD due to rising gas when I booked the tour 3 months ago. All other tours decided not to add surcharge as it's part of doing business. It is especially true when the cruise has capacity of 300+ so it's easier to hedge costs. When the gas prices come down it's not like they will refund $4 instead

3.00The island is beautiful. They suggested we pay extra when we got there to do a snorkelling tour, they knew the best spots but we didn't want to pay more after paying 127 each. On the day we paid for the reef walking tour 205 each and just after we paid they said it was booked up and would like several days for 410 refund. Frustrating as well even if you have bought tickets prior to the day you still have to line up to get more tickets at 7.45 and due to board at 8.30.
