This is a small group adventure, limited to 8 participants per glacier guide, ensuring a more personalized experience. Your guides are not only experienced but specially certified to lead glacier and climbing tours, providing both safety and deep geological insights.
Sólheimajökull is less crowded than Iceland’s more tourist-heavy spots, offering an authentic and immersive glacier experience.
All skill levels are welcome. This tour is designed to be accessible even to those with no climbing or glacier experience.
The tour from Reykjavík incudes sightseeing stops at Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. Relax and take in views of the South Coast - we handle the driving.

This tour is a small group adventure, limited to 8 participants per glacier guide, ensuring a more personalized experience.
Minimum age is 14 years and minimum shoe size is 35 EU
Hiking boots with ankle support are mandatory
Sturdy hiking shoes, waterproof jacket and pants can be rented
Guests must be comfortable walking 3-4 km on uneven terrain
Please note that our specialized glacier crampons are only available for shoe sizes 35-50 EU. Those with a shoe size beyond these are unfortunately unable to participate.
What To Expect
Experience the thrill of ice climbing on Sólheimajökull Glacier in this small-group adventure. Depart from Reykjavík or meet on-site at the glacier parking lot. You'll explore dramatic ice formations and climb frozen walls with the help of a certified glacier guide. Gear is provided, including crampons, ice axes, helmets, and safety lines. After a safety briefing, hike across the glacier’s stunning terrain -featuring crevasses, ridges, and vibrant blue ice- before tackling your own ice climb (optional). No experience needed. Discover the power and beauty of this ever-changing icy world. The tour from Reykjavík includes convenient pick up from select locations, and sightseeing stops at the iconic Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss wateralls. Relax and enjoy views of Iceland's famous South Coast.

Daniel was a great guide 😀Super funny & relaxed and made us feel safe the whole time. The group was small, which made the experience even more personal. Overall, just do it! You will not regret it:)

5.00We had an amazing glacier climbing experience! The scenery was breathtaking, and the whole tour was very well organized. A special thank you to Daniel, who made the experience even better. He was friendly, funny, and full of positive energy throughout the hike. The only thing I disagree with is his assessment of my climbing skills. He gave me a 6/10, but luckily I get the final say in this review — and Daniel gets a well-deserved 10/10 from me! 😄 Highly recommended!

5.00Daniel was a phenomenal guide! He provided Great instructions, had a great sense of humour and shared good tips for restaurants! Great intro to the ice climbing experience! Felt actually more involved than the simple walking tours on the glacier - very happy they provide this option as many other tours are just simple walking on the surface.

5.00It was an incredible climb — together with friends, we made our first ascent on a glacier ❤️❤️❤️ We’re truly lost for words when it comes to the views up there. Lukas, thank you so, so much for the way you guided us. Our guide shared amazingly interesting stories and led us through truly beautiful places. Monika from the bus was super friendly and really helpful in choosing the equipment. We recommend them 100%%%
