Join us for an unforgettable glacier hike on Sólheimajökull, meaning ''Home of the Sun Glacier'', one of Iceland's famous natural wonders. Located on Iceland’s iconic South Coast, this adventure is for anyone who wants to touch real ice and see the wonders of a glacier firsthand. It is a perfect blend of easy exercise and breathtaking scenery. Your adventure begins at our base in the Sólheimajökull Parking Lot, about a 35-minute drive from the town of Vík. Here, you meet your friendly, certified glacier guide. After a safety briefing and gear-up, you’ll embark on a scenic walk toward the ice, passing a glacier lagoon where blue icebergs float beautifully in the water. Once we step onto the ice, you’ll discover a frozen world of towering ridges and deep blue formations. Our friendly local experts will be right beside you to ensure you feel safe and confident, while they bring the glacier to life with stories of the glacier - how it was formed, how it is changing, and why it is so special to Iceland. Not worth the money In my opinion, the tour description is really misleading. Like in: "Explore Iceland’s Sólheimajökull Glacier in the most exciting way possible - ice climbing." or in: "Reach the top and enjoy the stunning views you've earned." No. You dont. You walk up. They secure a rope. You go down a wall and you climb it up again. Then you wait for all 15 participants to have made their turn at the wall. You can have a second try, if you want. After that you walk a loop on the glacier, get to make photos and ealk down again. All in all 5 hours of (mostly) boredom. Now the attidude I got there, wearing a good amount of clothes. I told them, that it would be enough and that i wouldnt be cold. But they insisted me to get more to wear. I gave in, as i understand, they don't want to cancel the whole trip for everyone, because i am too cold to continue. But then Daniel just needed to pinpoint at me in front of the whole group, that i feel like i know the conditions better then the guides. In the next sentense he said, that he didn't bring enough to wear for himself, because the weather prognosis was wrong. The other guide Michael didn't even bring gloves without holes. But then they insisted me to get another jacket, when even i told them i dont need it. I had to take it off after 5 minutes and carry it with me for the rest of the tour. Also the continued to criticize me in front of everyone. But when others did the same thing, they didn't mind.

Went with my two kids, the youngest being nine. The guide was very helpful and accommodating. At times it was hard for my youngest to keep up so the guide had us join him in the front to set the pace, which I think everyone was happy to slow down lol.

Terrible customer treatment, would not recommend. Supposed to have a glacier hike on Monday which is an hour out of our way so we drive through harsh conditions and a bad road to the car park only for no one to turn up. We pay for parking and toilets and wait for 45 minutes in rough conditions and still no one is here. What company in their right mind decides to cancel an experience due to bad weather without informing tourists that it’s not happening. This is extremely unsafe and also them not informing us of this cancellation caused us to be stuck behind closed roads and trapped in bad conditions. I completely understand cancelling due to weather but the sheer lack of information provided to us is appalling. For £180 you go to a booking because you won’t get it back if it happens so this company has created an extremely unsafe situation and I will never book with them again. I highly recommend that if anyone wants to do any winter activities they book with other companies.

Our guide Lukas was great, and made us feel safe the whole time even with a lot of snow coverage. The views were incredible, and it was a perfect sunny day! Definitely would recommend Arctic Adventures. We had a blast!

It was a very pleasant experience to be our first time. The guide Daniel was very accessible and with very good explanation, even talking about his own experiences that he has lived in the tours.

Mind-blowing experience, I just regret that it will last so short while we were in the glacier itself. Between preparing the material, getting to the point and then turning around, you lose a lot of time. But the views and the activity itself are exceptional.

Rain pants and water proof gloves are a must. Recommend bringing a change of clothes for after. Fun time up on the glacier we loved our guide and the small group was nice!
