We greatly enjoyed our experience on Sólheimajökull. Being able to park and walk right onto the glacier was convenient and worked really well for an afternoon stop on our Route 1 road trip. Our guide Per was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating for all on the tour. He explained that the cave was formed naturally, but won’t be around for a long time as the glacier melts and shifts through the seasons. Highly recommend!

We booked the wrong day for this hike but the company was more than happy to fit us in for the day we showed up. I loved that they were flexible with this and the staff overall were extremely patient and friendly. It's been a while since I've seen such helpful staff with terrific attitudes. Our guide Edgar was great, energetic and very supportive, made sure that everyone was safe and was more than willing to help anyone out if they had trouble putting the crampons. He made the hike enjoyable so I highly recommend if you're considering signing up for this.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING We were hoping to either walk on a glacier or visit an ice cave while in Iceland and we happened to arrive on the first day this cave opened at Solheimajokull! It was the perfect combo! Our guide Lily was super friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. She said this is the best ice cave she’s seen — and it is GORGEOUS. The cave is huge, with waterfalls and gorgeous blue ice. We had a lots of time inside, and the rest of the 3 hours were active hiking on the glacier. This was the best tour experience we could have hoped for in Iceland. If deciding between the normal Solheimajokull glacier hike or Katla Ice Cave DO THIS ONE!
