First, we will take a boat to visit a huge floating fish farm owned by a local family. There, we can understand how the locals make a living from the river's natural resources, while also stimulating your senses with a unique fish foot massage
Then we walk along with villagers to discover the lives of local people living on a green islet in the middle of the Mekong River. Their income is based on feeding fishes and cultivating a variety of fruits. A trip to the Mekong River would not be complete without a visit to a tropical fruit garden in which we will learn how locals tend to these gardens and of course enjoy some of our pickings!
Finally, a local host family will prepare a cozy dinner with a hotpot soup made with local fishes, vegetables and herbs.
As the sun paints the sky with hues of amber, indulge in this culinary delight while soaking in the picturesque vista, an unforgettable moment harmonizing with the rich cultural tapestry of the Mekong Delta.

What To Expect
Travelling by boat along the Mekong River, we will explore many activities of the local inhabitants. First, we will take a boat along the Mekong, visiting a huge floating fish farm owned by a local family. There, we can understand how the locals make a living from the river's natural resources, while also stimulating your senses with a unique fish foot massage, a delightful experience accentuated by the soothing surroundings. Then we walk along with villagers to discover the lives of local people on a green islet in the middle of the Mekong River. 5.00After doing the floating markets the day before we chose to do this tour as well with Ruby. It was one to remember. The floating fish farm was amazing and a must do experience. Ruby was once again very informative and the people who own the farm were very friendly and welcoming. Thanks Ruby🙂

5.00Friendly and very competent operator. He dedicated me time and welcomed my needs. Guide prepared, stimulating, proactive and really nice. I really appreciated that everything was included in the package (admissions, fruit during the excursion, dinner and drinks). The tour was varied and intense: really interesting and fun!

5.00This was an authentic experience and helped me start to understand village life in the Mekong Delta. Our guide Pi was welcomed into the homes of people on Son Islet as if she was part of their family. I recommend you don't eat too much before you go on this tour because we ate a lot! We tried different fruits, popped rice and finished with a delicious seafood hotpot. The tour of the fish farm was also very interesting. We fed the fish, experienced a fish 'massage' and tried fish patties. Overall a great tour and I highly recommend it!

5.00This was our second tour with Mekong Realism (the first being Largest Floating Market, Wild Canal System And Organic Chocolate tour) and I have nothing but lavish praise for the company, our guide, David, and the tour itself. It was interesting, varied and well-organized. I'm surprised this tour has so few reviews; it should be much more widely known.

5.00A very nice tour made, we started at a fish farm, there we got a good explanation about how such a fish farm works, then on to the island where we made a very nice tour including rice puffs and a lot of explanation about the residents and their way of life. We also had a very nice and enthusiastic guide, very helpful and nice. We can definitely recommend this tour to everyone!!
