The boat trip was really good - we were really looked after! The rum and chocolate tasting was also really good and so was lunch. The only issue was their logistics could be improved e.g. everyone was told their pick up was 8.15am when it was a little later (we were the 1st ones to be picked up at 8.30am), we were the only one doing the rum and chocolate tour and the pick up to it was super great but we got dropped back to the dock for the boat about 45 mins before the rest of our tour group (who were still having lunch). We didn't get communication on how long the rest of the group would be and was stuck in the heat. Thankfully, a tour guide from an early tour saw us and gave us good advice to go to the bar across the road to watch when the boat comes in. The drop off was also chaotic with us passing our hotel a few times and being driven far out into the countryside. If the logistics were better or better communication about the logistics then it would have been a 5/5.

We took the Soufriere Excursion with Rum & Chocolate Tasting tour and had a great day! The cruise down the coast from Rodney Bay to Soufriere was beautiful, even with a few tropical rain showers. In Soufriere, most people on the catamaran chose the volcano/waterfall/mud bath tour so only 4 of us went on the rum and chocolate tasting tour. We were transported by taxi to the Morne Coubaril Estate, a historic plantation that was founded in the early 1700’s. The tour was educational as we learned about different tropical plants that the natives used for medicinal purposes. The best part was learning about how chocolate is made. Our guide cracked open a cocoa pod and showed us the beans covered with a sweet white creamy substance. We then learned how the cocoa is fermented, dried and roasted. Later, we tasted chocolate made from cocoa grown on the estate. We also tasted fresh coconuts. We then tasted 11 rums ranging from 12.5% alcohol to 80% alcohol - all made in Saint Lucia! Our favorite was the Chairman’s Spiced Rum. We also had a tasty lunch buffet at the estate. On the return trip to Rodney Bay, we stopped for snorkeling for ~30 minutes and also cruised through lovely Marigot Bay. The crew was very friendly - we thoroughly enjoyed them! On the cruise, Piton beer, rum punch, Diet Coke and water was available. I can highly recommend this experience.

SUNTOURS WEST COAST CHOCOLATE & RUM EXPERIENCE Enjoy an unforgettable day with all the experiences to wow anyone. Get your hands dirty and craft you own authentic chocolate bar in a very interactive room. Touch, taste and smell what will stimulate your chocolate taste buds to make a purchase from a wide range of cocoa products. After such a fascinating experience, take a drive to a restaurant overlooking the town of Soufriere; view the iconic twin peaks (the Pitons) and much more whilst enjoying a scrumptious meal. No better location to create a memory! Continue with a visit to the only Rum Distillery on Island. Learn the processes from sugar cane to rum and the rich history which will captivate and intrigue anyone. Walk through the Distillery’s carnival room before a stop at the Rum Tasting Bar. Indulge in the rum tasting as you please; this will ultimately lead you to the well-stocked Rum Boutique for purchases of your choice. Our Private Mercedes Driver was Allyne Philip he was very friendly and polite and his knowledge of the Island was very impressive and his safe driving made us feel very comfortable. What an enjoyable day we had.

The boat and crew were GREAT! Super friendly and fun and this part I would do again and again. However the rum and chocolate tour was very mediocre with very little to see and experience in the processes of rum and chocolate making. The gift shop had very little few items to choose from and the lunch was dismal. It was a buffet and guests were actually discouraged from asking for additional food. Definitely do not waste your time but book a day with the boat cruise- they are lovely!!

The excursion was excellent and even though we missed our pickup time/location the company made sure we got picked up and back on track for the tour. Amazing staff and great DJ. Had a blast! Highly recommend!

Simple but still worth it. Interesting place, nice people, wonderful lunch and of course beautiful setting. The complexity of turning cocoa beans into chocolate was the best thing to learn, seeing how it was done hundreds of years ago was actually kind of immersive. We were on a tour of only the 2 of us and the guide, Dalton. When I say simple I mean it seemed cheap afterwards but it was worth it. Thinking back to last week when we were there it was interesting, informative, and I am glad we did it. I consider it well worth the price and time. The chocolate is for sale in the little gift shop and we bought some (SHE really wanted a bit to bring home!) There was some history, rum, chocolate and great scenery, including an overlook of Soufriere and the little deep-water bay/harbor at the base of the Pitons. Almost forgot, most of the time was on the boat there and back, and that was great service. Drinks, fun, views of the coast from the sea and an amazing snorkel opportunity just north of Soufriere!

From ground transport to and from your hotel to the boat the whole day was excellent. The skipper and all of the crew are real friendly and want you to have a good time. We chose the Rum and Chocolate part of the day out and weren’t disappointed, who knew the cocoa pod produced so many different items. If you like time on and in the water you won’t be disappointed. Drinks included beers, rum punch, soft drink all for you.

We had a great time on this excursion. The staff was great. There was a mixup with the hotel pickup but Sea Spray promptly fixed the issue with no problem. The rum and chocolate tasting was both educational and tasty. We had no clue of the process of making chocolate. The rum wad great too. Jonathan our guide was perfect! It felt like we had the whole plantation to ourselves. First time I had sugar cane and juice from sugar cane. This was a great alternative to the mud baths and volcano tour. Thanks Sea Spray for a great day!
