Fred was truly a magnificent host and an excellent tour guide; we couldn’t have asked for a more knowledgeable and kind person. From our pick up from the resort to our off, Fred had a wealth of information pertaining to the island, the different cities that we drove through, and the incredible hike. I was nervous to take on this challenge but Fred ascended at a fabulous pace and was very thoughtful along the way, teaching us about different plants, history, and sedimentation of the soil and ash. This is a great experience for any nature lover, and Fred’s admiration for the journey is contagious and energizing!

I took the hike up La Soufriere today with Stays Taxis. It’s a strenuous hike, especially near the top, but you are rewarded with a great view down into the crater. The higher sections of the trail were disrupted by the April eruption, so the correct route isn’t always obvious and the upper sections are quite scrabbly. Fred did a great job of guiding me up and also provided lots of interesting information about La Soufriere and St Vincent. I’d strongly recommend this tour!
