Off-roading in Iceland - Must See, Must Do!

5.00For 3 days we were mostly off-road with Mani Asgeirsson, our fabulous guide. Riding in the largest Mercedes 4-wheeler imagineable. We learned A LOT about the geology - the unique configurations because of the America and Europe tectonic plates (think the Wall in the Game of Thrones). We snowmobiled across Langjokull Glacier, walked along the rainbow-hooded Gullfoss waterfall that plummets more than 100 feet into a rugged canyon, the famous tomato greenhouse, Fridheimar, and the Icelandic horse demonstration. Plus - fabulous food stops, black-sand beaches, off-roading through rivers and up volcanic rock hills. Mani - our guide - was fun, athletic, intelligent and articulate, and we can't wait to work with him again. Someday soon, we hope!
