What To Expect

1

Salisbury

After travelling through the stunning countryside and villages of Wiltshire, we arrive for a short photo stop in the charming town of Salisbury. We walk through the Medieval St Ann's Gate and the cathedral close, seeing an impressive collection of historic buildings, and then take time to admire its impressive tower and spire - at 404 feet the tallest in the country - constructed in a short space of time from 1220 to 1258. We then enter the cloisters, built from 1261, and the largest in the country, to complete our walk. Unfortunately, there is not enough time to enter Salisbury Cathedral on this tour.

You'll have the chance to visit this world famous monument from 4-5,000 years ago and still have enough time for the gift shop or a quick coffee. • Great way to get to London after a cruise

Easy pickup from the cruise ship, guide and driver had great personalities and were awesome. Time at Salisbury was great, timing was even better. We arrived before everything opened and so was quiet and serene, no one walking around in our pictures. Stonehenge was a bit more busy, but the guide's recommendation to go counter-clockqose was spot on. Groupnagreed to shorten that stop for more time at Windost ..also a best practice. 90 mins was enough for a more than the full audio tour, shuttles, and some goofy selfie pictures at the site and to grab an awesome sandwhich for the next transit. Walk to Windsor was a bit longer than expected, but was easy (only complicated as the guide had to "herd a few cats" who couldn't pass a trinket store without stopping enroute). Transits to hotels after was efficient and easy. Extended our cruise sight-seeing experience with door-to-door ease while ticking off bucket-list must-dos!

Went to Salisbury Cathedral which is one of the most beautiful churches without being able to get in because it was Sunday. Even though the church is magnificently constructed it was a shame we didn’t go in so I thought this was a wasted stop.

This tour was excellent. The tour guide was on time and very helpful with getting us settled. The van was clean and comfortable, while the driver was professional. The tour guide was very accommodating to our needs and worked to ensure that we had a worthwhile experience.

This is a great way to be see a bunch of the sites when you’re already gonna be paying for a transfer to get you back to the city anyways. My only disappointment was that I wish we had been able to go inside of the Salisbury Chapel because the stained glass looks beautiful from the outside and I’m sure it’s marvelous inside. I could also hear a choir singing and they sounded angelic. But the exterior is beautiful and I’m so glad we were able to see it.
