Join our truly small-group foodie tour limited to just 8 exclusive guests each day. There's no two ways about it, the food in Phuket is sublime. Perhaps that's why is was crowned the 'Thailand City of Gastronomy 2017' by UNESCO. This melting pot of Thai, Chinese, Malay and Burmese food certainly warrants a few hours away from the beach. There's no better way than diving into the hidden street eats in Phuket Old Town. You'll spend 4 hours with your foodie guide delving into the secrets behind the island's flavours. You'll make plenty of stops to mop up Burmese curries with wood-fried naans at a tucked away workers teashop, practise your chopstick skills on a bowl on the best bowl of Hokkien noodles in town and indulge in crispy roti dipped in creamy massaman curry, among a dozen more mouth-watering Phuketian culinary delights. You won't find food like this anywhere else on the island.

We can cater for vegetarians and pescatarians as long as those guests are okay that there may be 2-3 less tastings (out of 15) that won't be suitable. They certainly won't go hungry!

Note that our regular tour runs at 10:00am and 10:30am, and sometimes we add an extra tour at 12:30pm. Only the 12:30pm doesn't go inside the market (but our earlier tour times do!). Street food vendors take time off too, so not every Phuket food tour will be exactly the same, but fear not, the tour will always be packed with the good stuff!

While it's tempting to be a beach bum, those who drag themselves off the sand discover the secrets behind the island's flavours in small groups of up to 8 exclusive guests. Forget pad Thai and green curry, that's central Thai fare. We don't want to spoil the surprise, but prepare to drool as you mop up morsels with wood-fired naan, slurp bowls of smokey Hokkien noodles, work chopsticks over poh pia rolls smothered in rich tamarind sauce among many more lip-smackingly good tastings in places you'd struggle to find alone.

ROTI THEW NUM - Roti (Fried pancakes) - Chicken Massaman Curry & Beef Curry - Local drink (Ice tea with condensed milk & Ice tea with lemon) - Egg Roti with Banana 3. 5.00Cat's knowledge for this tour was second to none and worked completely around my families dietary requirements and made sure we could all enjoy the food tour. We went to multiple stops and tried all sorts of meals we otherwise would not think to try. Cat was able to answer all our questions and provide all the necessary information not only about the food we were eating but also the venue, the owners and the history of the area. Would definitely recommend Cat to anyone considering this food tour.

5.00We had an absolutely fantastic experience on A Chef’s Tour in Phuket, and our guide, Gigi, made it truly unforgettable. From the moment we met her, we felt completely at ease. Everywhere we went, local vendors seemed to know her, which gave us confidence that we were in the best hands. She took us to places we would never have discovered on our own, and throughout the tour she constantly checked that everyone was comfortable, asking if we needed the toilet, wanted a drink, or were okay with spicy food. Her warm personality, positive energy and genuine care for every guest made the experience even more enjoyable. What impressed me most was that this wasn’t just a food tour. Rather than focusing only on the Thai dishes that most tourists already know, Gigi explained how Phuket’s unique history, multicultural influences and local ingredients have shaped its food culture. It completely changed the way I think about Thai cuisine. When I heard there would be 15 tastings, I wondered if it would be too much. However, the pacing was excellent. The dishes were thoughtfully chosen, desserts appeared at just the right moments, and every stop felt different from the last. Before we knew it, four hours had flown by. As someone who works in the tourism industry and creates food tours myself, I found this tour incredibly inspiring. It was a wonderful example of how great storytelling, local knowledge and genuine hospitality can transform a food tour into a truly memorable cultural experience. If you’re visiting Phuket and want to experience the city’s authentic food culture beyond the usual tourist spots, I couldn’t recommend A Chef’s Tour and Gigi more highly.

5.00There were 4 of us for the food tour, so it was great. Lucky, our guide, has incredible knowledge of different cultures and she was very attentive to us. Do not hesitate to ask her questions; she will be happy to answer you. Throughout our culinary stops, we were able to taste different flavors: Thai, Indian, Malaysian, etc... An explosion of flavor!!! We crossed the threshold of some restaurants where, without her, we would not have set foot... and we were really not disappointed. An excursion that I can only recommend to you.
