Your luxurious railcar features a service bar, restroom and colorful artwork on the walls. The upper level has an open-air observation deck with breathtaking views of the majestic mountain ranges and lush sugar cane fields, and the lower level offers air-conditioned comfort and expansive vaulted windows. Take advantage of the complimentary specialty drinks served throughout the trip. See fields of sugar canes surrounding the railcar as the railway winds around the slopes of the remnant volcano Mt. Liamuiga. Discover the hidden black sand beach and overgrown plantation estates, and cross steel bridges, including one stretching 300 feet (90 meters) across a deep ravine. You will also pass many villages including the Mansion Village and Saddlers Village, surrounded by fields producing a range of fruit. The colorful narration of the history of Caribbean and St. Kitts includes tales of the “Last Railway in the West Indies,” which was used to transport sugar cane from the island’s sugar plantations to the sugar factory in Basseterre, St. Kitts capital city. You will also be entertained with folk songs and hymns by the St. Kitts Railway Choir. At the end of your train ride, transfer to a sightseeing bus to continue your 12-mile (19 km) journey along Island Main Road. The route passes under Brimstone Hill Fortress and through small villages and towns before returning to Basseterre. Please note: there is no reserved seating. All seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

First we stood for 20 minutes in blazing sun waiting for the driver to show up late. No place to sit, no shade! The train ride was uninteresting. Alcoholic drinks however we're good. Not worth the money spent.

The view the entire time was spectacular - I took waaay too many photos! Also, the people running it were super friendly and knowledgeable about basically everything on the island!

Really well organised. Amazing scenery. Lovely complimentary cocktails. Very informative commentary. Unfortunately the train broke down twice which caused a huge delay. Luckily we weren’t inconvenienced, but this problem does need to be factored in if you are in a tight schedule. We had a very colourful dance duo entertain us on the train.

If it rains there will likely be disruption to the trip. We waited over an hour for the final passengers to arrive at the starting point. The upstairs carriages had not been kept dry.

Expensive. The smell of diesel is very strong whilst the train is moving. We were denied permission to sit in another carriage. The train carriages needs maintenance and a lick of paint.

Very educational but not many pleasant views in the rain. Some Basic information they have taken an old narrow gauge industrial train and converted it to tourist use. I think its 18” gauge maybe 2’ and as such will have to be bumpy and jerky. The cars are relatively short as well which will add to the jerkyness as will putting a second level on. That being said they have done their best, and since the track was put down at the sugar cane fields it’s not going to go to all touristy locations. We arranged through cruise line and there were 10 busses of passengers on the train. Our bus driver gave an excellent background on the island and in many way was better than the tour guide in the train. It was about 30 minutes on the bus before the train and another 20 minutes after the train. The train ride would have been fine but once it started to rain we got really wet. Some marvelous pictures if it hadn’t been raining.

Trip was canceled due to mechanical issues. If they can get the train operational This could be a very enjoyable ride both aesthetically and historically.

Cars rock a bit, views/info was good on the train. 2 drinks, one small cake/snack. 45 mins for the bus tour part. Cost is the only negative.
