Taking the Gros Piton Climb is a must do when visiting our beautiful island. The views are breathtaking and worth every effort. `It requires strength and reasonable fitness. However you can turn at any given point if you feel it's too strenuous. Neighbouring islands can be seen at the summit. St Vincent towards the South and Martinique towards the north. Our island's rich vegetation will be seen throughout and your guide will point out some unique species.
This tour allows you to see the west coast of the island during the drive down from the hotel. Your driver will fill you in with information about the island.

Gros Piton Nature Trail
Climb to the peak of Saint Lucia's most iconic landmark on this hike up the slopes of the Gros Piton. You get a whole panorama of amazing views along the winding mountain trail, so get to know the surrounding rainforest and the gleaming blue waters of the Caribbean with a full day's worth of exploring
Castries
The city of Castries is usually the pickup point. The exit of the city takes you through the mountains, overlooking the city. On a cruise ship day, several vessels can be seen in port. Also the neighbouring island of Martinique can be seen on a clear day.

5.00Excellent driver, on time, great communication! I really appreciated and enjoyed the conversation. I learned a lot about the island on our 2 hour ride from Castries. We chatted about the local flora and the various villages. For cruise ship passengers be prepared to get off the ship early-it will take your entire port day to travel and hike. It is a mountainous roadtrip. As for the hike itself, it’s strenuous. 100% worth the effort. You get assigned a guide upon arrival. So that’s luck of the draw. On the trail I talked to many of the other guides and they are all good-nice-interesting-interested. Know your limits, take plenty of water and energy. I would suggest setting a time limit and turn around if you are not going to make the summit. As my guide said “you are in nature’s gym” so just go and enjoy some exercise and an authentic drive across the island.

5.00Pick up at the cruise port was on time and easy! Thompson notified me on WhatsApp before I had even gotten out of the port building. Rafael drove the 1.5 hours to the nature trail and facilitated everything with the park guide. (The park fee is included.). The hike was steep and hot but well worth it. Luciano had a steady pace and provided a lot of information along the way. If you like to hike, just do it!
