See the only remaining restored Gangster Era site on this historic tour of extensive caves carved into the hillside in long-abandoned mining ventures in the 1800s. Later it was a mushroom farm, and it was then developed into a restaurant casino and gangsters' hotspot during the 1930s prohibition era. Newspapers reported an unsolved gangland murder at the casino. Tour guides point out the bullet holes. Some believe the caves are haunted by the murdered mobsters whose bodies were never found. The original bar from the 30s has been fully restored - it was a then-record at 60 feet long.
Though this tour is appropriate for all ages, we recommend ages 5 and up, due to shorter attention spans and restlessness.

Such a fun time! Wish we were in town longer to attend the other tours they have. Definitely a must do !

Baby Face Nelson was the perfect tour guide who appeared to enjoy the tour as much as we did. I highly recommend this tour. But wear a light jacket!

It was a really good tour—mostly thanks to Mary (if I remember her name correctly; she was an older white lady). The site was interesting on its own, but she made it a very engaging experience. She was funny, witty, and had a nice voice. Also, the pictures I took are gonna help me get extra credit for one of my classes, so that’s cool too.

Luke did a great job giving us a tour of the caves. He was very engaging and knowledgeable. Definitely an interesting stop that gives you a piece of St. Paul's history.

It was quick less than an hour. It was an ok tour. The lady giving the tour spoke well. We just thought there would be more to it.
