Vajdahunyad Castle
Vajdahunyad Castle, located in Budapest, Hungary, is a picturesque and unique architectural gem that stands in the City Park (Városliget). Vajdahunyad Castle was originally built in 1896 as part of the Millennial Exhibition celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of the Hungarian state. The structure was designed by architect Ignác Alpár and initially constructed from cardboard and wood. Due to its popularity and the admiration it garnered, it was later rebuilt in stone and brick between 1904 and 1908.
Varosliget/City Park
Városliget's history dates back to the early 19th century. The area was originally a swampy expanse, which was transformed into a park in the early 1800s under the direction of Hungarian landscape architect Henrik Nebbien. The official opening of the park took place in 1896, marking the millennium of the Hungarian state. It has since become a central recreational and cultural area for both locals and tourists.
