Liz was our tour guide and she did a fantastic job! She was friendly and remembered everyone within our group right away. This tour makes visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island an easy trip! Best for people that have never visited the islands before. You’re with your guide for about 3.5 hours before you get to explore Ellis Island at your leisure. Went the beginning of January and while the boats were crowded, you had plenty of space and quite out on the actual islands.

Emmilene is an amazing tour guide. She was jovial, attentive, and humorous. She treated us like family and had the best attitude. The tour itself was beautiful, eye-opening, and time-efficient. This is a great way to see the big ticket items in NYC

We had a lot of fun. The tour guide was awesome, he obviously loves his job. The statue was beautiful, we didn’t tour Ellis island as it was too cold. The boat ride was marginal, packed in like sardines.

The good; Statue City Cruise official tour operator which gives access to both islands Using City Pass gives upto 40% discount This was our second visit, it was that good we took our children. The history of both islands is amazing but Ellis island is really phenomenal. The real stories, the artefacts and displays you can can really imagine what it must have been like when operational. It was especially poignant given the issues in today’s world, almost like history repeating itself. The boats were clean and super efficient and staff helpful and welcoming. It would be amazing if more investment could be given to Ellis island to truly protect it for future generations. The downright dangerous and awful; As soon as we came out of the subway we were literally pounced upon by ticket touts. They wore jackets which state they are official and authorised ticket merchants but the reality is they are private companies. We were duped by one of these, our mistake. The chap tried to say it was $47, it wasn’t it was $188. He also said the boat would stop at 3 places and take one hour where you could hop on and hop off. We were taken along with about 20 others in buses to a pier far away so immediately alarm bells started to ring. We initially thought things had just changed since our first visit many years ago. There were at least 3 different private companies operating using buses and different boats. There were a small number of staff shouting at people (not in a good way) where to go. After waiting an hour in the cold many people began to ask what was happening to be met with a very aggressive response that the boat would be coming. There was not one person keeping us informed. When the boat eventually arrived, the previous passengers gave us warnings; no stops, couldn’t get off of you wanted to, the trip took over 2 hours, the boat was old and some had concerns over safety, advised to get a refund but would have to go back to the terminal to do so. A number of us decided to do this. The chap that originally sold us the ticket obviously knew what he had done and tried to hide. He then said he would have to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor was helpful and had no issue giving us a refund. To do this, she said they had to use the same terminal. The chap produced a broken one as a trick to try and avoid the refund, luckily we had noticed this and that it was a different one. She managed to get a different terminal and processed the refund. He was quite unhappy about this and was quite intimidating when challenged about the obvious lies about the trip. So in summary, avoid these companies at all costs, use the official tour operator do not be misled as we were.

Emily our tour guide was excellent, it was one of the coldest and windiest days ever seen on the island which made the tour tricky. That meant the experience was mixed, the indoor museum was great to see, the outdoors was bitter and difficult to take in the beauty but Emily did her best to make the most of the extreme weather conditions we faced on the day. Ellis Island was missed out due to the weather but the Statue of Liberty was magnificent to see and such an iconic statue that will stay within my memory. We did receive a partial refund as the full tour could not be honoured, which we are grateful for, it probably would have been better to cancel or rearrange the trip. All that said - Worth a trip! You’ve got to do it once.

What a day! It was bitterly cold with a little snow, a little rain, a little fog and a little more fog. And our experience was great - mainly because of our tour guide, Ken! He was so apologetic about the weather and did his very best to make it a fun and interesting tour. He delivered! Thank you, Ken, for all the information! Who would have thought this grand statue is only as thick as two pennies back to back? Highly recommend and hope you get Ken!
