First of all we will bring you outside the main stream tourist routs. Most of the visitors in Stavanger want to see the famous PulPit in Lysefjord. We dont do that. We wanna show the beautiful island in Stavanger Municipality and just outside Stavanger Center. Stavanger is beautiful walking the the streets, but why not see the wider Stavanger from the sea side. We will tell you about Stavanger and the history of the vessel RS56 Olav Ringdal jr launched in 1952. It's a dramatic history during it's 30 years Search and Rescue periode. Onboard we also have the signature of Haakon the 7th, Norways first king after the liberation from Sweden. He inspected the vessel before it was put into operation back in 1952.

It's a unique atmosphere on board. It's a solidly built vessel for any weather condition. The speed of 8 knots will make it a relaxing tour.

What To Expect

Stavanger

Starting in Stavanger harbor Vågen (center of Stavanger) and we do a combined Fishing and Sightseeing tour in sheltered waters between the islands surrounding Stavanger. The Boatswain on deck will tell you about what you see and assist you when the fishing starts. We provide fishing gear for fishing down to 70 meters. The captain will search for the fish and you just follow the Boatswain on deck instructions and you will start fishing when the Captain see the fish on the Fish-finder screen. So easy:-)) Fish, relax and enjoy the scenery view..... that's what this is about.

We had the most amazing day aboard the Olav Ringdal, Jr. This is a beautiful, historic workhorse of a vessel - built for North Sea and far North rescues. She is sturdy, safe and comfortable. Captain Kjell-Morten and Boatswain Kim knowledge of local waters, history and the oil industry is stellar. (We wish we'd booked a longer cruise in these beautiful waters. Next trip). Their knowledge of boats, boat handling and all things nautical is stellar. If you're looking for an out-of-the-ordinary day at sea in the fjords or further, do not hesitate to sail aboard the Olav Ringdal, Jr. with Kjell Morten and Kim!

Excellent experience with captain Kjell and Kim. Highly recommendable! Even for families with small children! We had 2 children aged 1,5 yrs and 4 months old with us. Caught some beautiful fish and Kim even cooked a fish on the spot so we could taste it as fresh as it can be! Thank you for a superb day!!!! They even send us a forgotten jacket by post to our home in the Netherlands! Customer service they said! What more of service does one need! Thanks again for a wonderful and memorable day!!

We had a great fjord tour in Ryfylke Stavanger combined with fishing trip. It was a beautiful afternoon onboard this beautiful old search and rescue vessel, we had guest from Russia and we all enjoyed this beautiful tour. Boat is fully facilitated and the captain and co staff was very service minded. Can HIGHLY recommend a trip with Fjord Tours and Fishing Trips, a memorable trip! We also got some fish:-)

The boat was excellent. It was quite spacious, comfortable,and beautiful vessel. My friends and I had an amazing boat trip and celebrated my birthday on boat which was quite special for me. The captain was so accommodating and very kind to let us experience to do a sightseeing trip looking the fantastic views of Lysefjord. He showed us some really magestic scenery like the islands and he let us customized the trip to see what we wanted and ended up in Flørli. We spent a wonderful day with friends. It was a perfect birthday gift ending to our hiking trip in Flørli. Great memories to be treasured. I highly recommend this to everyone. 😍

Was with "Olav Ringdal Jr." on a trip out in Stavanger's archipelago in f.m. celebration of a good colleague. It was a great trip with good atmosphere, food and drink! Great service from the crew on board! A trip with "Olav Ringdal Jr." is highly recommended!

My husband and I decided we wanted to have a wedding in the idyllic Norwegian fjords and Kjell-Morten helped us make our dream come true! We are so thankful to Kjell-M. and his crew member. The boat is beautiful and well-maintained. We had space at the back of the boat for food/drinks and even dancing, all under a tent. And we had our ceremony in the bow as the boat paused for a moment under the Pulpit Rock. The views along the entire boat trip were incredible. Overall, we are so happy with how our wedding aboard Olav Ringdal Jr turned out! We hope to visit the boat again in the future for another cruise, or maybe even fishing. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a unique experience to enjoy the Norwegian nature!

We were out with Johan Ringdal Jr to celebrate a colleague of us who was going to retire. It was a very nice trip out in Skjærgården and good atmosphere on board. A totally superb boat to rent for team building!! Even though the weather was not the best, it was nice to sit under the roof. The trip lasted two hours, but we regretted that we did not book an hour more when the atmosphere was so good. Would definitely recommend a trip with this boat.
