I had a fantastic time on this trip. Rabbies absolutely nails it every time I take a trip with them. Jeff lead this one and was lovely! He gave us good information and plenty of time to see everything. He made us feel part of the trip. 10/10 recommend!!!

A castle with several areas to visit that requires more time to fully appreciate the information provided by the guide. Additionally, the two guides from Rabbies led us. The boat tour to discover the lock was light and informative.

We did this tour with Rabbie’s on 31/5/2026. This was the third day tour we had booked with Rabbie’s on our visit to Scotland. As with the other two tours, this one did not disappoint and we would highly recommend this day trip if you are in Glasgow and would like to visit Sterling Castle. The pick-up spot at the bus station was easy to find and convenient. Our guide, Ally P. was very energetic, helpful, knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. His love of music and “dad jokes” made for a fun day and his knowledge of local history and story telling made the trip very informative as well. Our tour was full but the limit of 16 is easily managed and did not seem crowed. Sterling Castle is amazing. Our tip is to purchase the entry fee option when booking the tour with Rabbie’s to avoid the lines (Castle fee and Cruise fee seem to be included when booking through Tripadvisor). When the tour arrives at the castle, take the first free guided tour offered by castle staff. The guided tour will help maximize your time at the castle and allow for ample time to explore on your own before the tour moves on to Loch Lomond. We also purchased the Loch Lomond cruise option. The view from the water of the shoreline and some of the old estates was worth the ride. The cruise also offers a bit of history of the area. This was a very well organized, fun and informative tour. We had a great time on this tour.

I was expecting more sight seen. It is just the palace and the cruise has more than 100+ people. It is not at all worth for the money I paid.

Great day out . Our tour guide Graham was excellent. He was knowledgeable and he had a good sense of humour. This is our fifth tour with Rabbies and all excellent tour guides . Keep up the good work .

Jeff C was an excellent driver and guide. With 16 passengers the minibus was a little cramped but it was comfortable. Stirling Castle deserves the 2 hours you have on this tour. I skipped the tour and rented an audio guide so I could go at my own pace. Exhibits there are very well done. Loch Lomand is beautiful and the boat trip was pleasant in spite of it being very cold and windy... but sunny. Seeing the beautiful countryside was a plus. I took this tour my first day in Scotland to help adjust to the time and it was very helpful for that purpose.

Stirling Castle was the highlight for us; take the guided tour and then go freelance. In Callander, search out eateries off the main street.

George, our driver was great. Very crowed little town for lunch. Felt a bit rushed. Boat ride was ok, would be nice to be a bit longer.
