Vasa Museum
This museum is the most visited in Scandinavia and considered one of the best in the World. The Vasa, the most famous battle galleon, was commissioned by King Gustav II Adolf in 1625. On August 10, 1628, the Vasa weighed anchor from Stockholm, but during its maiden voyage, The Vasa sank after only 20 minutes and 1300 mts from shore. The ship was rediscovered in 1956 and today the Vasa, is the only galleon in the world of its kind. Is a must see while you visit Stockholm!
After the original medieval castle of the Tre Kronor Palace was consumed by flames in a fire in May 1697, A plan for a new Palace was immediately in place. And when it was built in the 1700s, it created a stir in Europe. Today the Royal Palace is the largest inhabited castle in Europe and it is considered to be one of the emblematic buildings of the Baroque era.

We spend a January weekend in Stockholm and we where very lucky. Not only because of the weather but because we where super lucky with our guide. Fer is a very warm person, super nice! We had a two day tour seeing the sights in Stockholm but also grasping a lot about the actual country, the people, the history. We had long walks talking and listening to Fer who had a lot to tell us and engaged our daughters as well. Thank you Fer! It was great meeting you!
