Stonehenge
Stonehenge Over 5,000 years of history is waiting to be discovered by us at the prehistoric site at Stonehenge. Built on the windswept Salisbury Plain by our Neolithic ancestors, Stonehenge is a site that has courted controversy and stirred opinion for hundreds of years. Explore over 250 ancient objects on display at the world-class visitor centre. Discover the tools and everyday objects of Neolithic life, and come face-to-face with a 5,500-year-old man and ancient human remains. Decipher the mystery of Stonehenge using an interactive audio guide exclusive to Evan Evans. Learn who built it and why, as well as how it was constructed using rudimentary equipment made of wood and stone.
Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle (optional entry) is the ancestral home of the British monarchy and the largest occupied castle in the world. As you walk around the impressive grounds, it is almost hard to believe that successive kings and queens have been living here for over 900 years. You'll see why this beautiful castle was a favoured weekend residence of Queen Elizabeth II. Inside the State Apartments, you will have the chance to explore the same rooms used today by The King and members of the Royal Family. The rooms here were intended to rival the Palace of Versailles in France, and paintings by renowned artists such as Rembrandt adorn the walls. Guests choosing the option to enter the Castle can also see St George's Chapel, the scene of some of the most famous royal weddings of recent times including The Duke & Duchess of Sussex and HRH Princess Eugenie & Mr Jack Brooksbank. Within the Chapel are the tombs of 11 monarchs, including Queen Elizabeth II, George VI, Henry VIII and Charles I.

The trip was so worth it. Seeing both Stonehenge and Windsor Castle have always been something we have wanted to experience and visit. The tour guide was amazing and helpful as well! We do wish we had a little bit more time at Windsor to finish exploring the grounds and town, but overall good experience.

Our trip to Stonehenge, while memorable, did present with some minor challenges. There were no explicit instructions about what to do once arriving at the Victoria Bus Station. We basically had to figure it out once we got there, meaning we had no idea before we arrived which terminal we were leaving from. We had to wait until we got there and get the info from the boards. The drive over was very efficient, with no traffic issues. Our guide Robert was extremely knowledgeable about British History which really enhanced the touring experience. While we knew it would be a cold day, we were not anticipating it being that cold, so we did not spend much time at the monument. We basically got off the bus, took a couple of pics, walked around it, and went back to the visitor center because the cold was so unbearable. This was a good time of year to go unlike the summer months when Robert told us it is almost a nightmare to visit there are so many people. Also, expect that your time there is not unlimited - you are on a very fixed arrival and departure schedule. And as advertised it is an ALL day trip, so do expect that you will be gone for the day and plan accordingly. While we did not feel rushed, you do have to be mindful of the time while you are there. Once we left, it was off to Windsor Castle which was closed because it was boxing day. We did get to see the exterior and spend time in Windsor Village which was nice. However, we arrived at 2 and were scheduled to leave at 5 - since we were not touring the castle, it really was too much time there. We would have been satisfied to leave at least an hour earlier at 4. The ride back was fine until we got into London - it being boxing day and the tubes were not fully operational, it was a madhouse of people and traffic, so it took a little longer to get back to Victoria Train Station than originally thought (yes, they drop you off at the train not the bus station). Overall, we would recommend the tour, especially if Windsor is open for touring.

Incredible tour thanks to our tour guide, Mel. I’ve been on a lot of tours, and he was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. His 40 years of experience shone through, and he made the tour the best part of our week in London. Hearing his observations and tapping into his knowledge was insightful and much appreciated. Stonehenge was so iconic and was perfectly paced. Windsor Palace was surprisingly the most magnificent and memorable of all the places we visited during our entire trip. Mercedes bus transported us and had USB ports (from the ceiling so bring a long cable if needed).

Paul was admiring and funny that made the entire tour awesome. Very friendly and easy to talk to. The bus was warm even when the day was chilly. Very comfortable. Easy to find spot from London. Food had a lot of choices inside Windsor Castle.

Great day out, didn't feel too rushed as we had sufficient time in both locations, so would definitely recommend this over the tour options which also include a stop in Bath. Our guide Mel and our driver Corey were both very good, and everything felt well organized. Would definitely recommend.

Trip was lovely. Shiela, our guide did a wonderful job with information for our stops. We had great “traffic” for the trip so on busier days, it may feel rushed…we could have spent about another hour in Windsor which would have been nice.
