Stonehenge
Stonehenge Over 5,000 years of history is waiting to be discovered by us at the prehistoric site at Stonehenge. Built on the windswept Salisbury Plain by our Neolithic ancestors, Stonehenge is a site that has courted controversy and stirred opinion for hundreds of years. Explore over 250 ancient objects on display at the world-class visitor centre. Discover the tools and everyday objects of Neolithic life, and come face-to-face with a 5,500-year-old man and ancient human remains. Decipher the mystery of Stonehenge using an interactive audio guide exclusive to Evan Evans. Learn who built it and why, as well as how it was constructed using rudimentary equipment made of wood and stone.
Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle (optional entry) is the ancestral home of the British monarchy and the largest occupied castle in the world. As you walk around the impressive grounds, it is almost hard to believe that successive kings and queens have been living here for over 900 years. You'll see why this beautiful castle was a favoured weekend residence of Queen Elizabeth II. Inside the State Apartments, you will have the chance to explore the same rooms used today by The King and members of the Royal Family. The rooms here were intended to rival the Palace of Versailles in France, and paintings by renowned artists such as Rembrandt adorn the walls. Guests choosing the option to enter the Castle can also see St George's Chapel, the scene of some of the most famous royal weddings of recent times including The Duke & Duchess of Sussex and HRH Princess Eugenie & Mr Jack Brooksbank. Within the Chapel are the tombs of 11 monarchs, including Queen Elizabeth II, George VI, Henry VIII and Charles I.

Mel led an outstanding tour of Stonehenge and Windsor Castle through Evan - Evan tours. He was very informative of the history of each site, very witty, positive, taking and answering a multitude of questions and ensured each one of the group had a great time on the tour. He also was very helpful providing guidance for restaurants, transportation(the underground), and sites to visit in London. Seek him out for tours on your visit to London.

Mel was an awesome tour guide. So much information and a delight to have. I would take any tour he was a guide on. He made sure everyone was comfortable and safe for the entire trip. Made us all feel like family.

Mel of Evans Evans is the best tour guide I have ever met in the whole of UK. He transform sightseeing into storytelling, creating unforgettable memories by connecting travelers to the heart of a destination. He is passionate storyteller who make places come alive, turning a simple trip into a profound, personal, and enriching journey. The best story he told us is when he was touring with a family from America and they came across Princess Diana when she was still alive. He made a remarkable comment how the late Princess Diana, mother to the future King of UK became the Queen of People’s Heart.

We had an incredible trip to Windsor and Stonehenge with Evan Evans today. Our tour guide, Mel, was simply exceptional—funny (a true thespian who has been leading tours for over 40 years) and a veritable fount of information about London, Stonehenge and Windsor. We learned more about London from him than we had in our four hour long London black taxi tour of the city the day before! We were very glad to do the Windsor/Stonehenge tour rather than the more common tour that also does Bath. It was a long day already (10+ hours), and adding in Bath would have really shortchanged the amount of time we had in Stonehenge and Windsor. The two hours we had at Stonehenge and three hours at Windsor (which also included the time to have an early dinner) were perfect—any less would definitely have felt very rushed. We had contemplated a special “within the circle” tour of Stonehenge, but these left rather painfully early in the morning (around 6am), and honestly the normal tour gets you very close to Stonehenge as well. Incidentally, the Ivy restaurant in Windsor was amazing for an early dinner…a very high standard of classic English cuisine.

David our guide was amazing and our driver Clive was great as well. The tour starts around 830am. I suggest you eat and bring snacks and drinks. You are not allowed hot food and hot drinks on the coach. We are a quick breakfast beforehand and brought cold drinks and snacks as you spend a few hours of the day on the coach. The tour is great, first stop is Stonehenge. If it’s winter months be prepared! It’s windy and cold out there. There’s no windbreak. There is a cafe and gift shop at Stonehenge. Then off to Windsor and the castle. Be warned: Of you plan to do the full audio tour of the castle, which we did, you will not have time to explore Windsor town. We didn’t dawdle, and we did the full audio tour with about 20 minutes left to get to the coach. When you get off the coach the guide will take you into the castle. Then you’re on your own until departure. So plan accordingly. You can probably walk through the castle quickly and still have time to walk the shopping street outside, but if you spend too much time in the castle, you won’t. Just a point of preference I suppose, the town was very quaint and we wished we could have seen more. Nonetheless, the tour was great, and David was a fantastic guide. Be prepared for the UK weather with umbrellas and rain coats. Enjoy!

We had a fantastic time with my wife on the Big Red Coach tour, led by our wonderful guide David and expertly driven by Clyve. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to visit Stonehenge and Windsor Castle in the same day. It was such a lovely day out exploring London — truly a memorable experience!
