It was so exhilarating! An absolute must do if you are visiting Victoria! Plan on getting wet, but seeing the whales in their natural habitat is incredibly breathtaking. An experience we will never forget and an item checked off our bucket list!

This was a wonderful experience. It was cold! Even though the body suits provided protect you from getting extremely wet, dress warmly.

Our trip was magical! We saw a humpback about 5 -10 minutes after leaving the harbor. Then, we found a pod of Orcas Mom’s and kids, including a 2-week old. It was so small compared to the rest. Its dorsal fin was tiny. Josh (our captain) lined up the perfect pictures of the pod with a rainbow behind them. Who knew Orcas were at the end of a rainbow? We then went along the shore and saw thousands of birds; cormorants, common Muir’s, and gulls. The water was so calm, you could see the current stream. Across the current stream, there were two or three humpbacks lunge-feeding. I’ve never seen that before. It was absolutely amazing! I definitely recommend whale watching with Orca Spirit. This is the second time we’ve gone with them, and they always deliver. I was so immersed in the experience, I didn’t take photos.

Took us on a detour, due to a special report of a Orca spotted near by. It was special one ticked off the bucket list. We then were taken further out where we saw 5 whales on a feed, got some great shots of one of them coming up for a feed. The crew were great shout out to Hake and Sophia who kept us entertained with all their knowledge. Well worth the cold.

Booked as part of trip by travel agent. Was very good, we followed an Orca out of the harbour, and saw humpback whales, sea lions and seals out in the sound. The guide was very knowledgeable and the RIB great fun. They provide the all in one over suits and you can leave bags in the office. Wear an extra jumper take a woolly hat and zoom lens or binoculars. Recommend trip

From the moment we boarded, the energy was contagious, and it only got better once we were out on the water. We were lucky enough to see not just orcas, but also a minke whale gliding gracefully through the waves—a rare and unforgettable sight. The pace of the ride was thrilling yet comfortable, with spectacular views all around. Our skipper Shannon was an absolute delight—professional, warm, and full of knowledge and enthusiasm that made the whole trip feel personal and special. She had the perfect mix of expertise and humor, making everyone on board feel at ease and genuinely connected to the adventure. Between the incredible wildlife encounters and Shannon’s fantastic skippering, this outing will be a highlight of any trip to Victoria. If you’re considering a zodiac ride, don’t hesitate—go with Orca Spirit, and if you’re lucky enough to have Shannon at the helm, you’re in for something truly memorable!

I explored the Victoria area with skipper Gareth — we were able to see several groups of humpbacks and sea lions. We then had a gorgeous encounter with a solo orca. We were able to just coast with him along the shore in calm waters. Truly a bucket list experience! Gareth was an amazing guide — super knowledgeable and engaging with the group, with a passion for the wildlife.
